I feel like Gaga was pretty forthcoming with it traversing several genres. Every genre she mentioned by name is definitely there. She mentioned the beauty of her relationship being a big factor in the creation of the album and some people are shocked she's singing about happy and light things? She said there were two sides to the album, and even warned us by putting DWAS as the ending. It's Little Monsters wanting to believe it'll all be dark and acting like DWAS wouldn't fit. It was LMs acting like she will be singing about death and such only. The Prince influence is there as hinted. The dance influence is there as hinted. Y'all took some of the beats that were teased and just ran with it.

Thankfully she is bringing more joy and happiness to her music instead of pure horror and pain. What I meant was not only for Abracadabra beats and the ominous dark pop from disease, but also the whole aesthetic of the album, the black and white photoshoot, the make-up, hair, costumes and rough design and fonts used.

For the last almost decade i was convinced that ARTPOP simply killed something in her, and we would never see it, whatever that is, again. She showed it's obviously still there even now (abracadabra), but the rest unfortunately doesn't live up to it. I'm so glad to see her passionate again about pop music, but even the standout album tracks all just lack... something. Some oomph

does anyone else feel this is very ARTPOP-esque? like the way she's even singing. idk, it reminds me of that. and the polarizing nature of the album. also, ARTPOP traversed edm, pop, hip hop, so many different genres. it feels like the step sister. can't believe how much i won with this

Truly a masterpiece and it gets better with every listen. There are so many layers to every song. This album really encompasses who Gaga is as an artist and student of music. Its the first time in a long time where I can picture many songs as single material from one of her records. Thank you Gaga for this amazing album. This is up there with Born This Way as her magnum opus!!!! I can hear how inspired she was making this album! 🥹 what an experience! PAWS UP 4EVER!

I love ARTPOP but it’s nowhere near Mayhem, at least for me.

in my pov, something sprouted in here, a new vision or perhaps an evolution, which lead to her exploring different facets of her artistry and this album is the culmination of all of those. So it’s understandable if the fans that stanned her ARTPOP/BTW sound will be disappointed since this album does not conform on those two only.

Having my first listen now, all I can say for now is that it sounds like the same girl who made The Fame, but 20 years later.

It sounds so genuinely Gaga. Im glad she was inspired by these parts of her again.

Full circle moment!

Just listened and… unfortunately I don’t love it as much as people seem to. I’m gonna need more time with it. I felt similarly with Chromatica but it clicked quickly after. But ngl there are 5 songs I straight up don’t care for. I’m disappointed.

I still think Abracadabra and Disease are the best songs on the album and I was hoping for an album full of songs like this.

idk about yall but i like this record! im not surprised some hardcore stans on here don't like it cause they were expecting ARTPOP act II.this record is more in line with TF/BTW. Like...theatrical, young, radio POP gaga but with a dark twist. she even SOUNDS younger in some songs. imo she recaptured the magic of her old songs while making it brand new and FRESH. i like it.

also... the general public will eat this up. maybe to some hardcore monsters this sounds too "basic" for gaga, but for other fans this is the sound we've wanteddddd. it sounds like something she'd release after TFM and before BTW.

Stop the music, Start the drama.
