I think this started because a while back because some journos were gossiping that the two weren't campaigning for Kamala together, but Michelle "hates" politics and it's more advantageous for both of them to campaign and hit more areas.

I feel like people just underestimate how much Michelle is over politics in general. She's been pretty outspoken about almost divorcing Obama when he decided to run for the senate because she didn't like the political arena. Her skipping Trump's inauguration & Carter's funeral is probably her just wanting to avoid the political arena-because even Carter's funeral is political-and political journalists.

Obvs., I could be wrong though. And it's a true a lot of older couples spend time apart but don't divorce because they're basically over dating at their age and don't want the hassle of a divorce.

Exactly. Thank you. People keep thinking it can’t possibly be that she doesn’t want to be in politics. Even coming to the DNC, in hindsight, I can kinda see her tone shift being a HUGE indicator of how done with all this she is. She never wanted it, he did. But she didn’t want Trump in office so she came out and did her piece and left. But the loss? I mean…if I was already not about it and THEN we lost? You wouldn’t find me within 100 miles of DC. People forget she never wanted all the fame and fortune and all that. Yeah she wrote a book and has done some engagements but for the most part these things tend to stay FAR from politics. She doesn’t want any of that world.
