JoJo Siwa has been criticized on social media for her "tone deaf" video in which she packed her "essential" belongings while preparing to evacuate her mansion amid the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles.

The clip, shared by her Australian girlfriend Kath Ebbs, shows the 21-year-old singer packing items including her bedazzled outfits and stage costumes, such as a black bodysuit from the 2024 iHeart Radio Awards and a bedazzled high-visibility jacket, cup of flower petals. Kath revealed the couple were warned they might have to flee from JoJo's Tarzana mansion. 

But fans criticized JoJo for focusing on material possessions during the devastating fires.
One person described the video as "tone deaf" while another wrote, 'We don't care about her. We care about the people who don't have the money to rebuild their lives after the fires."

I don’t think she did anything wrong.

I don’t understand why the Internet expect rich celebrities to go through the middle class experience? As for empathy, what could she have done here?

if these items are her prized possessions then why wouldnt she take them. nobody would judge anybody else for grabbing their kindle or water bottle

let her be, she’s young, she took the few things that gave her joy in this whole tragedy.

People love to “eat the rich” and always attack the easy baits but will forever praise the real problematic rich people.

She's evacuating because there's a very real chance her house might burn down. Maybe let her cope how she wants if it's not hurting anyone. I'd be bringing my expensive, sentimental clothes with me too.

Maybe don't be so self-centered about it. There's nothing wrong with having lots of money under current circumstances, but at least don't be so opulent and tone-deaf. We're talking about a VERY low bar here.
