Justin Bieber rumored to return to music due to financial needs

After several years out of the spotlight, Justin Bieber is poised to make a comeback in 2025.

Since a high-profile split with his longtime manager Scooter Braun in August of 2023 after more than a decade of partnership, the Grammy winner has largely taken the past few years to be away from the stage.

But according to the “What I’m Hearing” newsletter from Matthew Belloni of Puck News, the pop star is taking steps to return to music, including bringing on a new attorney. The choice to come back to recording (and potentially performing) could be majorly financially motivated, Belloni notes — while Bieber sold his catalog for a whopping $200 million in 2023, the artist still owes AEG a significant sum after the cancellation of his tour for health reasons in 2022.

“I’m told Bieber needs the money and wants to work,” Belloni wrote. He names the cancelled tour and “other pop star expenses” as potential factors.

“Justin has always been irresponsible with money and spends freely without looking at prices or his bank balance,” the source said.  The insider added that Bieber can’t “sustain his extravagant lifestyle” with no cash flow for “much longer.”
Additionally, he was hit with $380,000 in unpaid property taxes on his $16 million home.

If he goes on a tour that’ll require him to do a lot of work , hopefully he’s up for it

He could record 3 new songs and drop a greatest hits album with it

Or release a new fully original studio album and not tour if he doesn’t want to tour but I don’t see how he’ll make a LOT of money w/o a tour
