This is a result of the famous california drought and santa ana winds creating unseasonably dry conditions. 2018 is the deadliest wildfire season, was also the largest at the time but 2020 and 2021 beat it size wise. As for solutions, California is in a near permanent drought due to a number of issues like climate change and corporate exploitation. The entire state is a tinderbox 90% of the year sadly. That makes firefighting harder than it should be even before last year's budget cut... add in the 100mph winds seen earlier today and it becomes impossible to do aerial firefighting and the amount of hoses combined with the hills etc mean that water pressure is a nightmare to manage. 2 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
