They're new songs she wrote post-Eternal Sunshine, so not just leftovers from the original album's sessions. She talked about it over the summer. I assume she'll celerbate the album's 1 year anniversary by releasing it. This was also around the time she said she was going to do a mini tour between the two Wicked films

Ahh that's surprising, I fully expected reheated leftovers. Good news though.

I'll be surprised if she does a mini tour next summer unless she's meaning a few isolated festival appearances/small intimate venues which require minimal production.

Pretty sure it'll be a handful of dates in smaller venues. Probably cities like LA, NY, London, Paris. She mentioned wanting to do something like that before because she doesn't like touring all that much.

So I’m guessing Deluxe Version’s are back in again? Which imo makes no sense (since back in the day it helped sell more physical copies, and that was it’s original intention) nowadays people add “deluxe” songs to just profit off of success of albums.

Now that Wicked has been so big her label has probably realised she should’ve released the album AFTER the film and want to capitalise on the film.
Had Gaga not done Harlequin I wonder if they’d have asked her to do something similar where she made her own renditions of the songs from the film.

I feel like the purpose of deluxe albums and multi-part projects isn‘t solely to „capitalize off of the success“ but more generally to elongate album campaigns and artistic visions (=eras). The reason is everything being fast paced, and it being extremely hard to keep an album campaign and artistic vision/direction going for much longer than the album release.

They actually started as a way of capitalising off the success of an original project. Hence why Interscope wanted Gaga to make a deluxe album for The Fame, same reason I Am… by Beyoncé had 2 deluxe versions (Deluxe and Platinum Edition) it was very common back in the 2000s to do that, it might have been a way to expand eras for some artists but Deluxe editions were absolutely to just milk a project dry entirely, if it were upto Interscope Gaga would’ve 100% had another edition attached to The Fame for profit reasons. Except as we know Gaga decided to write a whole new album instead of just throwing her b-sides from the album together like most people.

Same reason touring started in the way we know now was to recoup money spent on album campaigns when albums undersold back in the 70s by Rock bands. Then for Pop acts in the 80s. The less your album sold the more you had to tour. Now it’s just expected but that’s what it started for.

No no, I meant the reason for the „recent“ comeback and resurgence of Deluxe albums and them being released a good bit after the standard release.. it‘s done to give the album a second push and elongate the album cycle. Sorry for not being clear enough in my previous post.
