Is this the reason the LG7 Era feels empty right now?

I take issue with a few things here.

One, they could have stood by the project (Joker) regardless of the reception. Instead, they ditched it and let it fail even harder than it would have just 'cause it wasn't an immediate commercial success. Doesn't mean they have to defend the directoral decisions made in the editing room, but having some of the passion shown on screen translate to real life instead of a few half-hearted interviews with shady looks to one another.

I would prefer her die by a project she seemed incredibly excited for and create a sleeper cult favorite with cute promo for her INCREDIBLE accompanying album than drop both and pretend they don't exist.

Two, if she really released the (then ) lead single of her next album with no plans to perform it or give it the love it deserves 'cause she would be on her campaign trail to get an Oscar award then she really is far removed from the artist I thought she was. That's terrible planning one way or the other.

Either Disease was randomly released to appease the fans when it was obvious she wouldn't win any awards other than some Razzies or they really dropped that banger with zero intentions of doing anything with it outside of a week of TikToks and a video.

Three, it all comes down to my main grievance with her last year: she's not going for authenticity, she's not taking any stances, she's not making any statements, she's playing it safer than she EVER has before. People said Joanne was her "PR era" but it was an incredible risk to release that album. She stood by her project no matter what, even when the fans complained and the GP reception was lukewarm (until the Superbowl, that is).

Then they said ASIB was her "PR era" but it wasn't, it was her true breakthrough as an actress. Again, another huge risk and it paid off so well.

LG7 is her PR era so far. And with zero risks since she was cast as Lee and zero risks on the horizon...idk.

She's tossed a movie, an album, a single, and a standalone feature on Bruno's song and only one of those things has got the proper attention 'cause it was the most commercially successful one. It actively overrode one of them and infected another. All the others might as well not even exist at this point.

I absolutely expect if the reception to LG7 isn't Taylor Swift levels of stupid successful, she'll ditch it ASAP too aside from a couple of the rumored festivals and maybe a <20 date stadium tour to maximize profits.

I don't have much faith in her rn if you can't tell  I'm open to being proved wrong though. Desperately hoping she makes me eat my words.

I just miss the artist that got vomited on and when she got backlash for it she said "yeah, I f*cking did it, f*ck you". Literally willing to live and die by what she had to say.

I dont care if you cancel me but all the excitement is so gone. Why is she treating her music like this? 

Some of you said maybe she is on holidays and that she should rest and whatever, but… don’t we all work???? I get it if she wanted to take some time off, but in the middle of her lead single release??? like what??? Making 2 tiktoks and singing 2 acoustic versions of the lead single is simply not enough. I dont care that it flopped I just dont understand how she seems so excited for lg7 during interviews but yet ignore her single? like go sing it somewhere? I just wish she had comunication with her fans. Her album is supposed to drop next month, where is the announcement? a surprise release wouldnt make any sense because she already said february. 

And I think its cute but also very delusional for some of you to try an make sense of things. 

“shes not promoting disease because the election is close, I’m sure after the election she’ll come with everything”

”she may be sad about the election results, she’ll wait a week and then she’ll do stuff”

”oh it’s november so that means christmas music is taking over, but dont worry she has a plan, after christmas she is coming for everything”

”she’s not doing anything for the single because she is dropping the harlequin concert this xmas”

”well obviously disease was just a taste, she’s saving everything for the album release in february”

Honestly, I’m not too sure. If that was the case, it would’ve completely overshadowed LG7. It kind of happened anyway like I said in the other thread. Too much was happening at once and people lost interest by the time Disease came out. So even if Joker was this big success, I’m not convinced releasing LG7 at the same time would’ve helped it do well. I think people would be too focused on Joker and the whole era would be ignored just like Disease was. So perhaps they realised they kicked off the era too early and changed the strategy and are now keeping quiet to let it all blow over and start fresh.

Can we talk about how she missed all the hype she created to the fans and GP back in May? When she teased the Gaga Returns at the Chromatica Ball everyone was super excited about it, she had multiple viral tweets about it and the fanbase was eager to get something new but then it was Joker time, and to make it even worse she teased a new release as LG 6.5 and people were like "Oh is this the new Gaga music?" and completely forgot about the actual LG7 single

I feel like it's silence before chaos 

I'm pretty sure Gaga was on xmas holidays and is now very busy finalizing the album, editing stuff, making things ready 

The LG7 era is not truly started in my opinion but we will be getting a LOT this year, probably more than any year during the past 10 years

Tbh I feel like everyone moved from hating on Joker maybe because things are getting more and more ephemeral in today's culture and maybe because new year happened 

But yeah it feels like Joker happened ages ago for some reasons
