elijahfan 24,984
I'm not gonna lie: I'm tired of having 0 information that close to the album release. I know the music industry has changed and we can't expect a rollout to happen like its the 2010s, but come on girl, give us SOMETHING... 3
Awrah999 4,036
Trust the process yall. A whole lot of dramatics for nothing Gaga is doing just fine and she’s going to release sh*t when she wants to. It’s not a life or death scenario if X song charts well or Y song is released well before the album release. Mother knows what she’s doing Edited Wednesday at 08:52 PM by Awrah999

They tease it in May like it's ****ing imminent, only to release a first single in October... And we still have no album title or release date by January. I mean you can't blame everything over how the music industry has changed... this is just a masterclass in how to kill a fanbase's excitement. And I'm not even talking about the GP's excitement, which is absolutely non-existent as they're probably still learning what Chromatica is. Sorry for the rant, I'm all about trusting the process and all that, but girl... give us something, for Christ's sake. StrawberryBlond 14,154
We can't expect lots of pre-album singles in this day and age. In fact, even expecting lots of singles in general is unrealistic. The Tortured Poets Department was the most successful album of the year and its had 2 singles. And this was with the first one being a global #1 success, so it's not like the first 2 singles flopped so the towel was thrown in. It's more a case of "the album is selling well enough on its own with no singles or promo so just let it do its thing standing on its own merits without any help." So, this is possibly an indicator of how more albums will be pushed in the future. Seeing as DWAS wasn't originally supposed to be on the album, we know we've got more singles planned, at least. That said, it is strange that the album is coming out next month, the "lead" single was released over 2 months ago and we still don't have an album name, cover art, tracklist or release date. I tell myself it's just the way things are done now but was Gaga ever this late with information? Even during the pandemic, I'm sure she told us more before the release of Chromatica. But, oh well, if Beyonce can put out albums with little to no knowledge of them beforehand, I guess, so can Gaga. It is weird that even though the album is so close, I don't feel as excited for it as I should even though its been over 4 years since the last one. I just hope this feeling is normal when your fave has been around for 17 years. It's like you don't have the burning lust you feel for your partner of many years but the love is still undoubtedly there, it's just more subtle and refined. Happy new year everyone No fr Like i was so hyped about the idea of even having a lead single to a new gaga album and now that we don't even feel like we're in a proper era its like "skip, skip, skip, oh disease! Skip, skip, skip" yk? Like ofc i cant wait for lg7 but i dont feel the era anymore, its not what i really expected

The difference is that Beyoncé has released albums as total surprises, so the absence of info made sense. Here, they've basically been giving LMs blue balls since May. They've literally announced a time frame for the album release, we all know it's coming, so why are they still playing the secrecy card? It's just puzzling.

At least for me, when the single was announced it felt more of a relief than actual excitement, that teasing was brutal Long Live Gretchen 1
Bradley 57,585
If I'm not mistaken, there was a very long wait between Stupid Love (28 February) and Rain On Me. Chromatica was released on 29 May, and Rain On Me was announced only on 22 April. That's almost one month before it. This came with the Chromatica announcement, the tracklist and the album cover. I think she's deliberately being silent now so that the next announcement will feel like a BANG. Different circumstances I completely forgot Chromatica was delayed and had an original release date of April 10. But it doesn't change the fact that the second single was announced one month before its release date, which could also happen to LG7. I think it's because people have lower attention span nowadays so they want the second single and major announcements to coincide with the album release date as closely as possible. Leaving too much space in between is probably going to result in people losing interest in the waiting time. A bit like the strategy for movie trailers for non-blockbusters. Fans would probably enjoy a more drawn-out campaign, but many casual fans and the GP need to feel the heat to actually check it out.
