25-year-old Gaga: They're not getting one picture of my wedding

I came across this video and found some really interesting things she said about her marriage. At 51:13, she's asked about her love life. She says, 'My love life is the one thing I never talk about.'

I almost forgot about how she used to evade all questions about her love life earlier in her career, and I wonder what the reasons are. I'm also incredibly impressed by how she has been so articulate, thoughtful and mature at that age, and how she kept true to her words even 13 years later (assuming she is married.) You'd think that she might've compromised her values after more than a decade, but no, she seems to hold the same opinions when it comes to love and marraige.

At 58:11 she's asked if she could envision having her own family, having kids and having a more traditional existence. She said unequivocally 'Sure. It's (the traditional existence of a family) something I have now, I just want more of it in the future.'

I dk why but it's so refreshing to hear that. She seemed to have very strong opinions and feelings about family in a way that's different from most younger people. Most people don't give much thought to it at that age, haven't figured out, but she seemed to know what she wanted already. I also wonder if that has some connection to the depth of her relationship with music and art?

She refrained from answering relationship questions at the start of her career so that the press wouldn't focus on that when they're publishing on her. Instead they focus on her music, fashion, art, etc.

Mother is a master on the art of fame, she knows how to be famous and for the right reasons. Whether you're famous because you have 3 boyfriends in a year, because you are in a relationship with someone famous, because your sex tape got leaked "accidentally", because you throw shade at your contemporaries, or because of your talent. She chose talent.

Ah yes, back when I was a teenager and I thought 25 year olds were so old and mature

Now I'm 29 and I still feel like a teenager :selena:

It's normal. I work with some 50/60 year old women that say they still mentally feel like they're in their teens or 20s.

They also often act like it :vegas:

I'm 30 and I feel the same lol. The only difference is that I have a job and I'm independent, but still feel like the same kid :madge:

I’m about to be 30, and besides being more mature, having a stable job, and developing  an existential dread of the unknown universe, I still feel like my 20-year-old self sometimes :icant:

Reject False Icons

It’s disappointing that at that point to her and all her peers of their generation the narrative was do all these crazy things in your 20s and early 30s but you will have to settle down to a “normal” family wife life and you will adhere to that role or either we’ll destroy you

It’s not much better from women in pop from their past generation with Britney being asked shaming questions about her present actions affecting her next step as traditional wife, and asking her in her early 20s when will she have kids and marry and because she struggled being a mother the media viciously attacked her continuously and accepted and propelled her family’s interest in exploiting her and the gp swallowed and happily celebrated all this abuse

Gaga studied Britney she was a fan and I believe because of what she saw with Britney she knew what not to do, but society always finds a way to subjugate women who represent change.

At this time I think she came out as bi too if memory serves and she wanted all media attention to be on her art and not who was in her bed.

It’s so wild this came out when I was 12 years old and now I’m 25  I thought she was so old but now that I’m that age I realize just how young she was. She was so mature for her age and really knew how to get the media to focus on the right things.

A friend of mine thought she was 40 in 2010, and not even in a shady way

I feel like this is pretty common lmao I know people in my life are always shocked to hear she’s 38 and not 10 years older. She’s always carried herself in this timeless way. It’s hard to explain exactly how or why, but she just doesn’t hold herself the same way most people do.

I'm about 6 years younger than Gaga and I remember all through my 20's looking up to her as someone older, more mature, intelligent, a grown up. Now I look back at all those iterations of her as someone who is now older than all of them myself, and I realise that she was so young and still figuring it out. We all are. I like to say that maturing is not changing yourself or becoming some kind of 'grown up', it's understanding and accepting that you actually don't know everything, you'll never know everything, and life is about learning. Not some mythical 'mature age'. It's looking at older people not as 'old people' anymore, but as people like yourself. Everyone feels 25 forever, we just learn more lessons and our bodies change around our mind. I still look at Gaga as someone with more life experience in a lot of ways than myself, and more intelligent in certain ways, but also as just another person. I don't think of her as the adult and me as the young person. I think these are the things you start to understand in your 30's that you just can't grasp as easily in your 20's

Im glad I'm not the only one who's 29 or around my age feeling pretty similar. I remember when I was just 15-19 years old Gaga just seemed and appeared so much older than she was. I remember thinking just how serious she was and wish she loosened up more but now that I'm this age I really do see her more for what she was. It's difficult to appreciate her ingenuity in detail when you're younger and more naive. Looking back at these old videos of Gaga when she was the age I am close to now I see it in a different lens. What a feeling.
