it isn't shade ofc  you're allowed to have your feelings about this, and I know many people share the same feelings you do 

 

And I really understand it's a tough pill to swallow, especially since she claimed several times that DWAS wasn't included on LG7 up until recently, it's easy to feel lied to/manipulated. She was backed into a corner once the song started having massive success and I really think she would regret not including it on LG7 (even if that meant lying to us), I think she wants to alleviate the pressure of the commercial success, especially because LG7 seems to be more experimental and not so gp friendly.

Idk, maybe this play will make much more sense in the future and I know you don't care about charts, I honestly also don't care, but she cares, and it's not about the money, it's about her legacy as an artist, that's important to her and I feel like many people overlook that part of Gaga, and that doesn't mean she doesn't care about her art, it's a fine balance and i trust her 

She's allowed to have those ambitions, especially with her talents but people are allowed to criticize her for the cheaper moves, and I totally understand that  And including dwas on lg7 was def more on the cheap move side, I'll concede that  still doesn't bother me though

Compare it to Disease, everything about that song is Gaga. I want a Gagatastic song to go #1 again. I’m still ecstatic for this, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say it’s not as satisfying to me.

How doesnt it sound like a Gaga song, when we also have Million Reasons, Joanne, Brown Eyes, half of ASIB, and even all other Gaga ballads? None of them sound exactly the same, but when I hear DWAS it is not the song that makes me go: hmm this doenst sound like a Gaga song

It definitely sounds like many Gaga songs like MR, ARUTW, Shallow etc. You can't restrict Gaga in one genre. But I get it that Bruno has more vocals in the song. But this is officially a duet, Gaga is not the featuring artist. It equally belongs to both Gaga and Bruno.

Ah yes 😂 when she releases a Gagatastic song, you little monsters make it flop. Just when Disease was released all the Negative Nancies in Gagadaily were crying about how bad the song is. Her own fans didn't support her when she does a dark pop song. 

It's like whatever she does, there will Negative Nancies who will remain unhappy.

Those Gaga songs, while they have an acoustic aesthetic, don’t have the retro doo-wop melodies and instrumentation that is Bruno’s signature. Even their outfits on the single cover match Bruno’s 50’s vibe.

As I wrote to someone else, those other Gaga songs may be acoustic but it doesn’t mean it’s 50’s doo-wop inspired. Think of that clip from Jimmy Fallon where Ariana Grande imitates other artists. She did a perfect Xtina impression, but it doesn’t mean Ariana ever sounds like her normally. Likewise, Gaga is singing in Bruno’s style in this song so to me, it doesn’t really sound like a traditional “Lady Gaga” song.

I can’t decide what music my brain likes. I listened to Disease a few times and didn’t crave it anymore. I would’ve loved to have enjoyed it as much as I did Espresso over the summer.

I was somewhat okay with ABS blocking DWAS cause I’m a sucker for POCs releasing country music cause it really pisses the racist off. Plus it’s always nice seeing POC dominating in the US. But I s2g if that scumbag Wallen blocks her I will be FUMING

oh, Morgan actually had 2 songs in 2024 that debuted #1 Hot 100, the other 1 is him as a feature tho. But yas, his power is actually on streaming.

Morgan's new song will only have 3 full days vs DWAS having 7. His last single debuted at #1 but it had a full 7 days of tracking. I'm really not worried.

DWAS might pull through with a full week advantage. Morgan's disadvantage is that his song will only have 3 days for the tracking week: tue, wed & thu. If his streaming numbers won't be THAT big then DWAS is safe. We shall see with his debut numbers on Spotify USA.

I still recommend the LG7 pre-order tho just to be safe. If only she'll announce it. The album is literally like next month (9 hours til January 1 in my country)
