Not groundbreaking but it was a cleaaan performance. I also think the nfl is not a place for groundbreaking, though. Gotta remember that part. She’s done really unique performances before where she can flex a little more, this just isn’t really the venue for that

Everyone just says well she’s Beyoncé she’s amazing and rightfully so, but while she sounds amazing it just feels, stale? She wanted this country album to make an impact but forgot about it the past 9 months? Just kind of left fans for dust, not to mention the drama with the vinyl not having all the tracks but presenting it as a “Deluxe Yonce” version. I like quite a few songs on CC but it’s still insanely bloated, while renaissance I can play straight through no skips most of the time. I feel like she wanted this to be her Joanne and get a certain audience on her side, but it didn’t really work. She always had gays but she really hooked us for Renaissance. I don’t think she hooked anyone with this one. Just my opinion. I honestly hope she moves on and releases act 3 then does a tour later on with CC. Is she really going to tour for each act? I’d largely agree but add what I already wrote which is that I don’t think this performance is going to be breaking new ground: it’s the nfl on Christmas. It’s gotta play mass appeal and safe but exceptional. On its own merits it was super fun! on the music I agree, though. I liked the details of this performance and it’s definitely the best she’s sold this album but it feels so methodically thought out and planned that it’s a little bloated on mission and could be trimmed a bit. It also doesn’t need a tour imo though I have zero doubts she’d put on a great one. Only thing is it kinda obliterates her demand afterwards for many years bc…Renaissance was only 2 years ago

Omg ouch This Energy intensifies with the stereotypical band cheerleader vibe with hip hop mix. Roughhouse Dandy 10,243
The whole thing was an exhibition of BLACK country (specifically Texas) culture. The entire thesis of Cowboy Carter existing in general. The majorettes and HBCU marching band, the juneteenth and rose parade motifs, the lowriders, black cowboy fashion, the american flag rodeo ceremony, the texas two step and line dancing, the chitlin circuit stage styling, etc. There are definitely some similarities to some of her earlier work because that's where she came from and those are her roots, but we've literally never seen all these cultural touchstones put up on worldwide screens like this before. I honestly don't know what else she could've done that would've made it a better production. BUT everyone is entitled to their opinion. I guess it just doesn't hit the same for some that don't know exactly what they were looking at. Oh well! Can't please everyone She slayed regardless. doppelganger 3,912
Personally I thought it was all over the place. There are some great moments, but they are lost in what I felt was just trying too many things and not letting anything build. Beyonce always give great energy, a perfectionist and consummate professional ... but not a lot of heart and vulnerability Edited December 26, 2024 by doppelganger

All of you talking about how boring or repetitive the show was I am sure didn't catch not even 20% of the references And that's why it was a great show To really enjoy this when I didn't even really like the album means a lot of her power Edited December 26, 2024 by Guest
