AVeryGagaHolyDick 23,143
Oh and I’ll say it very honestly: She sang so much better before Joanne. Every performance used to feel so effortless and yet so technically perfect or almost in the worst case. Since the Bowie tribute, I feel that something has changed in her voice, and not for good. She still has talent obviously and she has a couple moments here and there where her voice really shines (JWT, TCB, last J&P dates) but globally, I think her singing really took a toll. She sometimes struggles to hit high notes, there’s no vibrato, it feels like she’s shouting and most of the time, she can’t growl. Her performances of Disease really showcase that, but basically, most of her performances do especially after the JWT (she could still growl during Joanne.) And sometimes I even think she sounds quite bad. I still think her 2024 releases are fabulous and I love them with all my heart, I say it every day. But since it’s an unpopular opinions thread… Edited December 29, 2024 by A Very Gaga Holida 1 1
Sugar Baby 772
After all this time the songs she performed at the Swinefest/iTunes festival are still soooo much better than the studio Versions in ARTPOP, especially Aura, Sex dreams and manicure the hell was she thinking when she changed them?
VOLANTIS 16,359
Chromatica will not stand the test of time like not even in a good throwback manner I fear. I'll lift you 3 inches off the ground and drag you to a meter and a half 2

Shallow at the Oscars she struggled a bit as well, but other than that I think she sounds phenomenal. Just the Christmas Carpool Karaoke shows how versatile her voice is still. And yeah, she struggled with the high notes in Disease, but everyone would while sitting. I mean, her live vocals on all DWAS performances were splendid, just like HM at Kimmel

Feels kind of forced, like she feels the need to prove to people that she can sing. We all know, though, everybody knows. Instead of shouting, make your performances captivating and interesting again. Too many people here with moral superiority complex.
qoqo 3,360
Dance In The Dark, Marry The Night, Scheiße and The Edge Of Glory are cheesy, oldschool-eurovision-sounding songs and I never really liked them G.U.Y. Is her best song and one of the most exciting and well constructed pop songs ever The majority of her unreleased (leaked) music isn’t great and is unreleased for a good reason Again Again and Retro Dance Freak are incredible and deserved more attention Chromatica is just a bad, ill-intentioned album both ARTPOP and Joanne would be more critically acclaimed and personally enjoyable had they had different album covers, their covers are atrocious Do What U Want with R. Kelly is top 5 in her discography (any other version ain’t it)
steven 5,818
Hot take but I don’t think Gaga’s acting is that phenomenal, just average tbh.

But it’s still overrated by fans and the GP. Gaga has numerous songs that are miles better than BR lol I disagree. I think BR remains one of the best pop song's Gaga has ever made. Hence why it's still adored by the fans and GP to this day. I'm fine, Ta 1
Edonis 28,928
Now don't throw tomatoes at me But she should stick to electronic music It doesn't have to be dance, pop, uptempo, whatever, it can have live instrumentation, it can be completely synthesized, it could even be ballads. But it's just clear when you listen to her catalogue that Gaga has a very special place in the electronic scene and that her voice stands out compared to a lot of other artists. I hope she continues to develop and grow with the genre. Edited December 30, 2024 by Edonis 1
Smother Em Eh 7,063
TFM is her BEST album and it still remains as one of the BEST pop albums of all time, even to this day. Even if it is only 8 tracks long. DITD should have been a single! Just imagine the MV BTW standard edition is the only BTW that should matter. (The “filler” tracks from the deluxe edition drag the quality down) Bloody Mary is one of her most unique and Gaga- esque tracks! DWUW was the best song on ARTPOP, without it ARTPOP won’t ever be the same Fashion! is really underrated CTC was one of not only the most important things Gaga has ever done but one of the BEST. Underrated album that perfectly showcases her vocal talent! Joanne isn’t as bad as people make it out to be even tho it’s far from being a masterpiece. Sinners Prayer is very underrated ROM is overrated Edited December 30, 2024 by Smother Em Eh Get Applause & G.U.Y to 1B views!

I never played ARTPOP in full after that. It feels weird to hear MANiCURE, and then ARTPOP(the actual best song on the album. DWUW is second place )
A Fried Egg 8,260
Sometimes I wonder if Michael was the one who wrote “lay you down like 123” and Gaga loved him too much to say no. Edited December 30, 2024 by LeafBug
Ocean Blvd 997
Her career became stale and boring in the last 8 years, it was still ok-ish during Joanne and we were all happy when ASIB was a success but overall she shifted to become more and more likeable to the gp, stopped making music for the arts, collaborated with streaming forces to avoid the flop or with grandpas to appeal the critics and the quality of her music in general downgraded a lot. She still made some good songs here and there but overall it feels like a totally different artist from the TF-TFM-BTW-AP times. She’s become unappealing to younger generations unless she’s making generic ballads like Million Reasons, Shallow or DWAS. And that’s WHY she can’t get a solo hit.
Ocean Blvd 997
And before someone says ‘but Chromatica was first, and this won this Grammy, and this prize bla bla’, I literally do not care, the quality downgrade is still there.

This x2 and the fact she lets her label/producers change the early concept of her albums everytime (like the Chromatica demos were much better than the final album) to make it more generic is frustrating af.
