DWAS can lyrically fit well with LG7

First, I find DWAS lyrically related to the dark nature of LG7. The song discusses about an apocalyptic situation :stupidoreo: where the future of our love life appears bleak.

Bruno sings about a bad dream, "You and I had to say goodbye", "But since I survived, I realized". That means Gaga probably didn't survive that dream :udidnt:

Gaga also responds, "Lost, lost in the words that we sCreAm, I don't even wanna do this anymore", showcasing Gaga is on the verge of giving up survival :bradley: She also mentions about the war which is not really worth more than their love.

Then, they both throw light on the apocalypse in these lines,

"If the world is ending, I wanna be next to you",

"Our time on Earth was through",

"I wanna hold you for a while, and die with a smile" :udidnt: :toofunny:

The end is near and inevitable. They are spending their final movements together. They brace themselves for it, and finally ready to pass away but happily with a smile 🥲 The song brings love and hope in the most hellish situation. We can face death gracefully while we have personal movements with our lover :kara:

And I believe it is important to have a positive, hopeful note to a supposedly dark album, as Gaga herself mentions that it is like a missing piece which can make LG7 complete

Thank you :ally:

I also think it fits quite well in the idea of LG7 and I assume it’s meant as a breather at the end of the record. It’s a little weird that Bruno has first dips in the song but other than that I have no problems with it being on the record. It’s not like she put Boys Boys Boys or Christmas Tree on it :laughga:

just had an idea !
What if she doubles down on the Bruno and has another song with him right before DWAS, which blends into DWAS. The prior one could be more chaotic and wild, being the „dream“ with which DWAS opens. Maybe that’s also what she was filming with him this week?

But the lyrics is not what people complain about, is it?

People knows how the snippets sounds and  are just concerned the sounds might be too different than the rest of the album.

I don’t understand why people think that when Gaga herself has said multiple times that there is going to be many different genres and styles on the album. Regardless of if DWAS was on the album or not, it’s going to be a “chaotic” record.

The lyrics totally. To me its not even abt the sounds. Its las if kimbra was the One having the gotoye Song on her album. The fact Is Gaga sings too Little on that Song. Its strange to me. Already on Hey girl the voice  were  too mashed together and Gaga didnt seemed Like a lead.

You can never take her words too literally cos she never does meant it literally. She got history.

I think people are complaining about the inconsistent narrative/messaging that Gaga has been putting out (basically contradicting what she said a few months ago numerous times about DWAS not being part of LG7), so it makes her look inauthentic (as her whole brand is about authenticity, being yourself, standing up for yourself/the truth and kindness) and this hurts her relationship with her fans.

Less about how LG7 is going to sound inconsistent genre-wise/sonically. She’s known not to stick to one genre anyway (even on the same album) and all her fans and even the GP know this by now.

I appreciate your concern. But, I didn't make this thread for the complains.

None of Gaga's albums is strictly in one particular genre.

You can find different styles within an album too like:

Brown Eyes, Summerboy and the rest of Fame album

Speechless, Teeth in the Fame Monster

Americano, Yoü and I in BTW album

Jewels N' Drugs, Dope, Gypsy in ARTPOP

The last songs in the Joanne

Stupid Love, Babylon in Chromatica

She never made an album that exactly sounds the same and cohesive, the closest being Chromatica.

So I don't think we need to worry about it sonically.

She might have really thought that DWAS can remain as a standalone single. She didn't expect it to be a Bad Romance level of success, while Disease flopped harder than Stupid Love. It is also ridiculous for her to waste that opportunity to support her album.

I think this "her whole brand is about authenticity, being yourself, standing up for yourself/the truth and kindness" is being taken too out of context. She really makes the music what she wants whether pop or jazz. She makes whatever kind of music video she wants, whether Alejandro, Judas, or Rain on Me. This is what she means by being herself, standing up for her arts, have freedom to make whatever art or genre.

But it doesn't mean you have to stick to the plan you made earlier, even if the situation goes south. There is nothing wrong in adapting to the situation. That's why she is still relevant after 16 years.

That’s what I’ve been thinking

People are making too many assumptions when she’s said before that you think the album goes one way and then goes the other as it goes on

I mean, but it would be weird if she said the album was going to be chaotic and eclectic, only for it to have the same style of song every time  I mean, it’s also not like she doesn’t have albums that are “chaotic,” sonically speaking.
