It's actually amazing so many of the headlines these days are basically "I can't believe I fell for the smear campaign against Blake Lively I'm so ashamed Baldoni is evil" etc. etc. etc. Yet literally everyone is doing the same thing just in the opposite direction now. The news isn't even a week old (and was conveniently and strategically dropped right before Christmas to ensure maximum publicity and prevent Baldoni's team from formulating and responding until the New Year). He's more than likely to countersue with accusations of his own that may (or may not) sway public opinion on the case. Yet everyone already has an opinion from just one side of the story (and may or may not change their mind once they hear the full story).

It's always "wait until you hear both sides before making a judgement" until the first side becomes really compelling and then people don't need to wait for the other side of the story to throw stones. 

I'd rather have a brain than be brain dead. I'm personally waiting for all the facts until I formulate an opinion, just so I don't change my mind every 5 minutes like everyone else. Thank you very much.

It’s ironic, my stance has changed since more news came out. I don’t think it’s fair to judge someone’s past opinion, like you said it came from the 1st page, an opinion from 3 days ago.

1) not mad, just lmaoing at all the nonsense i'm reading

2) i literally just explained that i was waiting for all the facts to make an opinion to avoid changing my mind every 3 days like literally all of you will once more facts get revealed, time for better reading glasses

And I stand by what I said - this entire situation was dead. The world had moved on. She's married to one of Hollywood's favourite male leads. 

And this lawsuit has just made the people who hate her start talking about how much they hate her. 

As I've said though, her team clearly have the evidence to backup their serious claims of harassment and its good that they've brought it to light.

But it won't change the people who hate her. They will still hate her. They just have 1 less talking point.

Go to YouTube and you'll magically discover creators specifically mentioning how she undermined her own image by selling hair care line.

Also, don't be naive enough to assume people see everything in black n white. Some need to get off their high horses and see that the people around are smart enough to realize that one can be harrassed and still cause one's own reputation damage by doing other things. News flash: both can happen at the same time. Nobody is gullible enough to think Blake cannot be abused, harrassed. All empathy goew to her! But people can see that selling hair care products and floral romcom vibe for a movie on SA is extremely distasteful.

People have since taken her side once she made the allegations public. Nobody is denying she was harassed simply because she damaged her reputation. People aren't as bad as you've unfortunately been led to believe.

to add to this – if the allegations are true in her suit, the reason for doing this is irrespective of whether the internet has "moved on" or not. she would want retribution, vindication and revenge to him for his behaviour (which, if the allegations are all true, makes perfect sense). If however her version of events is a slightly (or dramatically) embellished version of the truth, rehashing the story and bringing it out again now that everyone had moved on would indeed be a kind of weird choice because it would just drag this story on for ages.

Honestly I think the most likely outcome is the sexual harassment stuff is going to be largely true.

But her additional stuff about the PR spin campaign etc I see being waaay more grey and as a result any court case if public is just going to get messy for the pair of them and end up hurting both of them.

At the end of the day the result is going to change nothing. People who hate her, will continue to do so because they hated her before this. And the people who don't, will continue to not.

interesting. From my reading so far my understanding has been that the PR spin campaign is the one that everyone is supporting as real (even her castmates) but so far for the SH allegations it's only been a "she said" (and he didn't say yet but will likely reply at some point in the next few weeks). I feel like the SH allegations are the ones that will be hardest for either side to prove so it really will be down to a jury to decide what the truth is, since I don't see either side moving for a settlement considering the accusations.
