Y'all are doing too much with the "now the album will be an uncohesive mess!" stuff. It's 1 song and it'll probably be at the end :ladyhaha:

So much for my hopes of a sonically cohesive album. DWAS will stick out like a sore thumb. My hype just flatlined, unfortunately. It better just be a bonus track.

She’s been saying the album is a chaotic mix of genres though :staymad:

I knew this would happen ugh.

Gaga pls fight for LG7.

" I loved making “Harlequin.” I loved collaborating with all the DJs and Gesaffelstein on my new album. I loved learning about industrial music and about all the different crevices of electronic music, and then I loved working with Bruno. One of the things I’ve probably been judged for in my career was not sticking to one thing. But not sticking to one thing is my life force."

Yeah back then vinyl wasn't a major market & vinyl pressing wait times weren't 8 to 12 weeks. If she's still tweaking it the odds of her having physicals available for the end of Feb are low.

So she's either finished or delaying the release week.

I mean we will have to disagree about ARTPOP & Joanne telling a story from start to finish.

And as someone's quoted in this thread or another (im on my phone and cant hunt easily lol) she described this album as a party and having twists & turns even before Disease came out and before DWAS smashed.

I don't think we can say simply because DWAS is tagged on that the album will not have focus or synergy. ...especially not if ARTPOP told a story from start to finish :trollga:

And I do get what you are saying about the end track not being as she intended. But digital platforms will make that easily fixable. Besides knowing Gaga until they forced her to pin the tracklist down for the album to go to print, there wasn't a tracklist 😂

Delaying another album release? Don’t put that into the air :saladga:

Well it is a surprise that Die With A Smile went from standalone single to now being part of LG7 but if it's there then good. It's one of her biggest hits in years and a good strategy to push the album to a new audience. LG7 has always been described as multi genre and recently when she said that "you listen to it and you think you know what's coming but you don't". Like there's going to be many surprises there.

Disease is a killer track and one of her best since BTW/ARTPOP days but I'm sure there's going to be some other not that dark / industrial influenced. I remember the picture in the studio with the purple light and the saxophone. I think that was for LG7 but could've  been for Harlequin, we'll find out eventually.

I'm just so happy that Gesaffelstein is CONFIRMED to be on the album, one of my dream collaborations and that she's doing this industrial, have been craving this heavy sound since she was working on ARTPOP.

2024 has been one of the best Gaga years in a long time and y'all have to complain about that detail lol but I want to go back to this thread once we finally listen to the album. I just hope that no song got replaced or something like that.

Could you imagine if Billie added the Barbie song to HMHAS, and announced that before the album came out? It already puts in your head the idea that the album might not be so good on its own and needs some help.

I think we should keep an open mind to hear how Disease and Die With A Smile work on the album once we finally get to hear it.

It is a Bruno track :rip: or at the very least it was a standalone single. It's only being put on the album so LG7 can debut with a billion+ streams in its pocket already.

Literally sacrificing whatever artistic vision she had for the project in favor of streams. Bling, not the music, I guess.

And yes I will be dramatic about it 'cause this is not the woman I started stanning in 2013 that leaked her own song 'cause her vision was to have it be the lead instead of the song the label picked.

There were times when one song was more successful than another so they switched up singles, which is annoying but fine. But to have her sitting in this interview gaslighting us into believing DWAS was not only always a part of LG7 (it wasn't) but that it's one of its core pillars is so frustrating.

I was already mad that she left Disease to rot in favor of pushing the song that was selling more but now I'm just plain put off lmao

Girl, let me go to work :smh:

This is really dramatic lol

Wasn't she promoting Disease some days ago on that Carpool thing? The Rolling Stones interview talking about the creation process for the song... Those 2 performances on YouTube. We already had more than whatever she did for Chromatica until the tour

I wish she performed it in front of an audience like she did with DWAS or Happy Mistake... A performance might be coming kn January, after Xmas freeze :max:

Sneaky Oliver

She’s the artist that has Speechless on the same album as Bad Romance, You and I on the same album as Scheisse and Dope on the same album as Aura. We’ll be fine. All the cohesiveness discussion is bulshit and unnecessary

People are being way too dramatic here lol. Born This Way and ARTPOP are some of Gaga's most chaotic albums and are the fan favorites. Like she said she performed You and I because it wasn't going to be on the album, later changed her mind and got Brian May to be part of it and it's one of the best moments of it. And of course it's the album with songs like Born This Way, Americano, Government Hooker, Heavy Metal Lover, etc just like ARTPOP has Do What U Want, Jewels N' Drugs, Swine and Dope all in there.

It just makes more sense, they wouldn't let 1 billion of streams to slip away but DWAS was really intended to be a standalone single, Bruno's single, and it's really not matching the whole album, so an "encore" bonus track at the end it's the most logical thing to do without killing the vibe of the album.

I would bet anything it's this.

And why would anyone freak out over this? It's a win/win:

1. As a bonus track it won't hurt the consistency of the album.

2. Those who love the song (as I do) will have it on an album. Which is super cool.

3. It will help sales - which, come on be real, matters. And will help sales big time.

4. And if you don't like it being there? It'll most likely be the last song and you never have to listen to it if you don't want. I mean, there is always one or two songs I skip on just about every album. It doesn't ruin them for me! I just skip that song and am on the next song I love.

This! Especially saying that the album is not cohesive before hearing it. Negativity similar to this is what damaged ARTPOP, and if this keeps going on, it will also damage LG7.
