Y'all this is a worldwide SMASH. Ofc it’s gonna be on the album. I’m actually grateful for it. Success guaranteed. I’m sure they know how to make it blend with the rest of the songs and the album as a whole. TBH DWAS is too good to not get album treatment - it’s gonna come down as one of her biggest hits, which it already is

Real, I think that DWAS could be with the tracks like "Gimp of the Garden" that are about love. :kara:

I'm here to take a break from university homeworks :/

I don’t think Gaga is desperate and would add the song to the album if it would ruin it just for charts. DWAS is not just a successful song, it’s on track to become the most streamed song of all time. It’s just bad business to ignore it. We don’t know how it fits into the rest of the album, we can only make a judgement on that when the album is released so best to not be dramatic and save the reactions for then.

I’m sure there other considerations beyond sales like how would they campaign DWAS for the Grammys without distracting form LG7. Maybe the original plan was for it to be on the album but Bruno’s label didn’t want that but now they’ve changed their mind. Maybe they felt for the songs legacy it’s best to have it live on an album. There’s a lot we don’t know…

Idk how i feel about this. It was clearly a strategic decision. Hopefully it won't contrast too much wirh the rest of the songs

anyway why is nobody talking about the fact this hasn't been labelled the lead and disease has also technically not been called the lead either? it was called the "first" single

to me, it sounds like they're getting rid of the traditional single cycle and just dropping songs due to how streaming works

Isn’t the first single the same thing as lead single tho? :oprah:

anyways, it was kinda obvious the possibility of DWAS becoming part of it since not even them or label could never imagine how big the song would get even though it was labeled as a standalone project.

When she says DWAS is the missing piece sounds like the album wasn’t supposed to have any ballad maybe? But still not a big deal since 99% of pop records gets at least a ballad and that doesn’t make any other of her previous ballads misplaced on their respective albums as some people seems to think like imo.

edit: the fact the even tho DWAS first ideias to get Gaga as a feat came from Bruno and he called her to the studio to record it, also makes me wonder why her name still comes up first on the song/single descriptions which sounds interesting to me

"Is the song connected to whatever’s happening on LG7?

Absolutely. “Die With a Smile” is on my record — it’s a huge part of my album. It was like this missing piece. The record is full of my love of music — so many different genres, so many different styles, so many different dreams. It leaps around genre in a way that’s almost corrupt. And it ends with love. That’s the answer to all the chaos in my life is that I find peace with love. Every song that I wrote, I just kept getting kind of swept away in these different dreams I was having about the past — almost like a recollection of all these bad decisions that I made in my life. But it ends in this very happy place."

Well that's just diminished my hype for LG7. DWAS and Disease sound nothing alike so the album isn't gonna be cohesive at all, I understand from a business point of view DWAS being such a success it's good for the album's streaming numbers etc. but yeah this is a mess.

How is it a mess ? Think of You and I in the same album as HML and GH and Schiesse

And on the other hand, the same whiners here turned their back on Chromatica saying it was more of the same and bland... YOU. ARE. NEVER. SATISFIED!

Such a cheap move. So what’s even the lead?

Forget about cohesiveness in the music, what about the looks? Disease is all dark and avant garde and DWAS is toned down, colourful and 70s inspired. Feels like two completely different albums.

You mean to tell me the LG7 era started in August and we didn’t even know it?

We’re such a joke at this point. MESS as usual

Yeah good thing You and I and Bloody Mary were on separate albums …. Wait … she literally said the album is full of Sonic surprises ….
