It's real, it sounds like a song produced by Gesaffelstein who previously worked with The Weeknd... But it sounds very punchy, very energetic and experimental af :

If Gaga want to get a viral song with The Weeknd, it must sounds more like a The Weeknd type of song. The Weeknd sonorities identity are very 80s synth-pop. We know that this song will also have some Prince influences, so it's defo not NB. 

I can hear in DWAS the Gaga style in this song, I get some ARUTW and Shallow hits vibes, but there's a bigger influence of Bruno style in the lyricism and the Silk Sonic hits sonorities identity. That's why it was a success. 

I feel like Gaga shouldn't rely on a collab for her second single. She will probably drop second solo song with her pure sonorities to promote what LG7 sounds like. It will give something like "Hey guys you likes my BTW and TFM songs ? I have a good news for you, my new album is electro and experimental, it is like my previous albums but more mature." 

She need to feel safe with her sonorities identity cause Gen Z is obsessed with her experimental electronic stuff. The proof is that, despite not being a smash hit, there's a plenty of edits who use "Disease".

ariana and bruno are arguably two of the best singers in our generation - the fact that you said this shows you dont have taste.

ariana's discography is anything but BASIC the girls released a lot of deep personal work while also being the most skilled vocalist of this generation. shes sung about her divorce, her dating pete but not being able to love him fully because she was mourning the death of mac miller, shes sung about wanting to hate her ex husband but not being able to because for most of their relationship he was a good partner and she wants to hate him in order to move on but she cant. arguably arianas released a lot more personal work than LG has just cuz arianas not wearing crazy stage outfits and isnt known for shock value doesnt make her basic, she has the bops, she has the deep lyrical content all while being the best or one of the best vocalists of this generation. if someone is known more for their vocal ability that doesnt make them basic, you know whats basic, all these new artists that need a gimmick in order to hide the fact that theyre mediocre singers.

You can have the best vocals and sing about deep subjects but still be basic. Music is subjective, so the fact that you think you can decide who have good and bad taste makes you basic, which explains why you think Ariana Grande is a deep artist.
