Why should that type of acting be undeserving of nomination? I dont think only serious/sophisticated roles ought to be awarded! Ariana rose to the occasion of satisfying the diehard fans of this 20 year old show and also somehow managed to ditch her persona and image despite performing a role where she is both singing and “popular”! That’s quite impressive to me. And all that said it’s officially the most successful and positively received broadway adaptation of all time. That’s a feat! She could’ve ruined it if she didn’t do her part well lol

ari carried that movie she didnt just do her part well 

cynthia was great but her acting was almost expected and very one dimensional - ari gave us every range of emotion a human could feel
