Like nothing is original, everything is inspired by something else, even if only subconsciously. It is wild though how many times that story has slowly and peacefully died, only to be beaten violently back to life for the next adaption of an adaptation. I love how elphaba is portrayed compared to the stage versions and the expansions of certain topics really help answer questions from the stage show!
