Do an official (actual) remix, let the song stand on its own, or leave the simple tempo edits to the fans/memers.

Making "sped up versions" official is the equivalent of using AI to make an album cover or something. Cheap and lazy when done by the artist/label.

Artists need to be smart about these things and know what other people are going to upload, and what other people want, and beat them to it. Billie was really smart for releasing the vocals only versions of Hit Me Hard And Soft. It also would've been smart to upload sped up and reverb versions because people go mad for those. I was thinking just last night that when Melanie Martinez has finished making a video for every song on her Portals album, she needs to compile them into one long video. Because if not someone else is definitely going to compile them into one video, and everyone will watch that instead of finding a playlist. Artists need to be smart like this. They keep trying to artificially create viral trends but that's so the wrong approach
