She didn't specify the color of white people because it's the default color for her. She can say all she wants that she never specified Hermione's skin color, you know dawn well she always imagined her as white. That’s my thing with people saying it’s main canon hermione is non white lmao like guys jk Rowling has some VERY suspect treatment of nonwhiteness in these books cmon lol if you want to see her that way, amazing! But I think it’s a stretch to assign jk Rowling’s intent to your interpretation. Neither is more important than the other but they’re distinctly different and if we’re critiquing a text we do need to be honest about said distinction.
