Kanye ruined Taylor's acceptance speech and humiliated her on stage

Billboard elaborated about Taylor vs. Beyonce, and why they selected one over the other, in their own subjective ranking that has no weight outside of an article on Billboard.com

it is not the same :toofunny:

to you it's not, for me it is and I'm not gonna change my mind no matter what you're going to stay so that's it, it's over :patrizia:

No they aren't.  They're giving Beyonce deserved recognition and including a perspective beyond just "most chart and money success."

The USA is not the world, but nobody in "the world" has bigger numbers than Taylor.

I disagree :excusemeno:

So they start the article praising Beyonce with a paragraph saying "Taylor is more successful" :toofunny:

Billboard be like "talent-wise, Beyonce but numbers-wise, Taylor" :ladyhaha:

Well I didn't read the whole article and I've seen some points made in this thread.  But BB didn't pull a microphone out of Beyonce's hand to say that Taylor Swift deserves her acclaim.  Taylor Swift has more chart success than Beyonce.  That's just a fact and sites like this one blow charts into such importance that pointing it out feels like a massive attack to people living in that reality.

As far as bigger artists in the world who've had more success?  Who exactly?

Off-topic but that weird insertion of Taylor at the beginning of Beyonce's achievement really pisses me off so bear with me:

The past two years of Taylormania have been boring as hell. I'm happy for her stans and I'm impressed by her numbers across the board, but I am convinced her timing of The Eras Tour post-COVID was the key to this unprecedented phenomena.

Taylor has always been popular, but something changed over the past couple years that instantly rocketed her to the top and I think it's because the world was desperate for normalcy and fun post-COVID. She's approachable, non-threatening to women's insecurities, fairly sexless in her content and visually very safe for people from all backgrounds (religious, political, cultural) - The Eras Tour was a safe and wholesome community event that everyone wanted to join in on, and worked in every market.

I swear there's gonna be a story in some big publication 5 years down the road where they dive into the debt accumulated by people during the post-COVID concert surge, and I'm willing to bet most of the worst offenders will be Swifties. The stories I've consistently heard of people maxing out credit cards and taking out loans for $3k tickets blow my mind, and it's a level of FOMO-mania I haven't seen before in my life.

They had a whole week to talk about Taylor and now that Beyoncé gets her #1 mention they have to bring her up again as if they're trying not to piss off the fans or something. :icant:

Everyone knows I'm a Taylor fan here (also a huge Beyonce fan). And even I am thinking, what was the point of including this in the article about Beyonce? Wasn't there one for her last week where they could have had this exclusively there?

Pop stans have infiltrated journalism and it is seeping so deep into its integrity.

She had not toured Europe except the UK in more than a decade

Last time she came to Spain was 2011 and she sold 4k tickets out of 10k :brat:
