The suit was probaly filed earlier but TMZ have just discovered it now. I wouldn't be surprised if the mother notified them herself

Could be true!

Pronounced like “Balenciaga” . Emphasis on the “Ga”

Isn’t this just child negligence? I mean, the mother wasn’t monitoring what the girl was doing online.

Did the mother have some sort of parental control software or her devices that proves she (the mother) cares about what her child is exposed to online?

The daughter could have easily just typed in wicked.com just assuming it was the “Wicked” movie, without necessarily reading it directly from the doll box.

Let’s be real, this woman and her lawyers are opportunistic people.

Mattel really opened opportunities for people to make some quick bucks. How very charitable of them. :lmao:

When you open the site the page is blurred and you immediately get a pop-up telling you 'ACCESS BEYOND THIS PAGE IS RESTRICTED TO ADULTS (18+)* ONLY' and have to accept this before progressing further.

There is basically no scope for 'emotional distress' other than inconvenience and maybe having to have an embarrassing conversation about why you couldn't access the site.

The link to the wrong site is a major cock-up but there is no case here for damages. That said, this woman will probably get a payout to make her go away quietly.

Oh I doubt the daughter even visited the site. She just wanted the fast payout

As they should be. They'll probably lose a lot of money battling such a huge company. Companies get people to dismiss cases against them by dragging them out. Mattel should absolutely pay in some way for that terrible mistake. I work in marketing and if something like that happened to a visible product or entity in my job, that would be terrible for the entire company.
