The fact that the last time it happened she released Midnights like they couldn’t bear to be out of Hot100 for another week so decided to release a new album out of nowhere

"Pop singer releases pop album era after 2 years of lockdown & cancelled tour" is not really the take you think it is.

Like if you'd said she'd released Folklore & Evermore to maintain her fame during a period when music was in such a chaotic and unprecedented state and she capitalised on the lack of competition? Bingo.  

But like Lover came out in Aug 2019 & Midnights came out in Oct 2022. That's a pretty standard gap between mainline projects.

I didn’t mean like they intended to release the album that way but it’s just kinda funny how it ultimately happened because of the infamous TTPD promo now so it’s giving “oh she has always been sneaky like that” but we know it was not the case.

It represents bland and mediocre music getting underserved success and influencing playlists and radio all over the country.
