im trying to figure out if @Lucas just has an extremely bad way of expressing what they mean and are actually just trying to say i hope trump goes ahead and ****s things up so that his stans will get a harsh awakening and doesn't mean they actually want people to undeservedly suffer but are just saying the inevitable is the inevitable now he's been voted in and sadly a harsh reality is needed in order for him to lose his hold.. if that makes sense?

Poverty (both absolute and relative) has long been a major concern for the BRICS countries. Members of that group literally just mostly poor countries wanting business from, and in turn, doesn't mind became lap dogs for China.

No way he actually wants people to suffer. This is a pop music forum, people like to exaggerate, and he's not a sociopath lol.

My whole family could be ripped apart by Trump's immigration policies and I'm not exactly rich either so those tariffs are coming directly for my wallet and belly but even I have to admit I'm lowkey perched for people's lives to get harder directly due to Trump's policies. If only because that's the only way his audience will abandon him.

Oh nah, people just be saying stuff. Honestly, it would be good for the rest of the industrialized world to gain some independence and stop relying on the US. At least until we keep flipping back and forth every four years between "human rights" and ...idk, "Mexicans are invaders, women are objects, LGBTQ is pedophilia, Jews will not replace us, Muslims are *insert any number of racist comments here*" etc etc.

Plus, the US government has been such a villain for a lot of people around the world. I'm sure it's cathartic on some level to see us at such a low point with only lower to go.

It just sucks that there's good people here and in other countries that will also suffer. But we'll live...maybe

Unfortunately the downfall might be the only thing that fixes it and we have to just hope that these people are too incompetent to fully implement their disasterous plans.

It's funny because one of my close friends said the same thing about digging a hole for idiots and I FRIED him for it a year ago. Now I'm sitting here like "well maybe we should have".

They're already pivoting with mental gymnastics. The talking point now is "the economy lags behind economic policy. So if the economy doesn't get better it's Biden's fault" while completely ignoring the fact that by their (correct) logic, Trump was majorly at fault for Biden's economy (that has started to get better).

Seeing hatred rising and people expressing polarising opinions that exclude the factor that there are children who will suffer the consequences of grown up people's choices is concerning. Studying about WWI and WWII it seems we are 1-2 years shy of an official climax. Tbh I can't blame people who believe Trump is a savior. God I wish there was a way to make only all the people who voted for him suffer. The US is literally a place of extremes split right down the middle almost 50/50

Threatening the BRICS countries only motivates them to pursue exactly what is being opposed. I don’t think they’ll fully succeed, but silly statements like this from the incoming U.S. president, boasting about the greatness of the U.S. and the dollar, definitely won’t stop them from trying even harder. 

On another note, from an EU citizen’s perspective, now that we’ve reduced our dependency on Russia, it might be time to turn our attention to the U.S. Despite being friends and allies, Trump’s leadership will undoubtedly bring challenges for Europe.

Yeah because in human history, the times a bad leader elected via democratic means is replaced through non-democratic means with a better leader definitely outnumbers all the times a democratically elected bad leader is replaced by an even worse dictatorship.
