More details on Gaga deal for Copacabana show

Edit: now that I'm thinking about it, everytime I say I'm a fan of Gaga I have been met with a weird reaction. Some weeks ago another colleague was BAFFLED that I'm a Gaga fan, he was like "Gaga???? Why???? She doesn't sing, no, why do you like her? I'm shocked". And then he commented AGAIN some hours later "sooo, Lady Gaga, huh? I'm surprised" with a smirk tone. It's very weird, lots of people are still sleeping on her.

Yeah I've never really thought Gaga would break Madonna's audience. Copacabana is obviously people from all ages and cities and pretty sure a legacy act like Madonna had to be a massive attraction, especially to 30+ year olds.

Fans are really gonna need to lower their expectations about this because there's obviously going to be comparisons but there seems to be this new wave of "Gaga hate" with Joker 2 that makes people turned off right now and don't care much about her but we know fans are going to support her. It's really sad to see that with the Wednesday guest star articles a lot of people reacted in a negative way to that.

but a generality in this thread and in the fanbase, I mean before actually caring about a couple of Madonna fans showing some hate, we really should wonder how to support our fave and stop all the regular negativity in this fanbase.

In terms of support, Madonna fans are a strong base for decades. We trully can't relate to this like seriously and we should look it up asap tbh. Seeing the obvious lack of her support on Joker, Harlequin and Disease from Lady Gaga's base, it trully shows Lady Gaga now depends more on GP oriented success when she gets some. Even on some stuff that are targetting her fans (like a big return to her dark pop roots). I kinda fear for LG7 because of this

Yes you’re right. Dumb stans online doesn’t affect Gaga’s success nor artistry. I’m just so impulsive of their stupidness, yea I need to relax

Idk which one of us is on a bubble. Bc my friends are all already planning how to go, and we live way far from there, the other friends I have from around the country are planning to go as well, some even reserved their rooms. I think it really depends on the region we live in, bc our country’s huge and so diverse, and the age as well, me and my friends are on our late twenties, idk. I’m seeing a very different picture than what I saw with Madonna, and it’s a stronger one here.

Yes, different bubbles. I'm a teacher, so my colleagues are almost all 40+. I'm almost 30, and my colleagues that are around my age and my friends absolutely LOVE Gaga. I think it's a different generations thing.

Some tv shows are already interviewing fans, we’re about to enter another Gaga fever phase here  

Fun fact: when Gaga cancelled Rock in Rio, a random fan was interviewed for one of our biggest tv channels and said he threw a bible on Gaga’s hip during BTWB and he believed it caused her hip injury years later and consequently her cancellation. Now a tv show managed to find the same fan and they are now a trans woman thanks to Born This Way message  so good to hear about Gaga’s impact

I cant imagine what she has in store for such a crowd. Will she jump from a helicopter? Or air balloon her way to the stage? Volantis anyone? Or maybe she will arrive by water, riding on a galeon ship  

Will there be big fireballs like TCB? Will there be a big stage castle like BTWB? Will she change costumes on stage like ARTPOP Rave? 

 

She needs another BIG PERFORMANCE MOMENT(S).

Will there be a National Gaga Day? Will she arrive at the airport like what she did in Greece like Venus?

While it will definitely hard to top or surpass madonna's show, I don't think it's that impossible. At the end of the day it comes to two things: 1. Gaga hasn't been in Latin America since 2012 2. It's a free concert.

well madonna's last concert here was also in 2012 and it was also free

i think it comes down mostly to generational gap. I think a lot of older people that came to see madonna aren't going to gaga, but a lot of younger people that didn't travel to rio to see madonna would travel to see gaga
