Genuinely happy for Ariana and Cynthia but I can't help but feel this also should be happening to Gaga :bradley: she gave it all to FAD, delivered flawless acting, gave endless promo, she even did Harleyquinn for it!

And she ends up being relegated to a smaller role, it's infuriating and it isn't fair to her at all.

I really have a feeling if they didn't cut her so much the movie would be received much better and it wouldn't suffer from the apparent lack of directing in some places.

I curse you Todd Phillips  :fthis::grr:

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for Wicked success, very deserving and a good omen for future musicals, but i had to get this out of my chest :cryga:

I agree it stings a bit. But we have to remember Gaga had her big movie moment and won an Oscar. You can't expect every movie to do this. Ariana herself will likely not experience this again.

Can they like chill tf out for the marketing of part 2 then? Cause I can’t go through this again in like 10 months

It's expected to come out November 21st next year, so unless they move the release up, it's going to be 12 months, not 10.

The lack of taste here absolutely scans.

Well that’s my opinion, cry about it later, I know you are against people having their own but saddly for you we are still free to express

My bad for buying tickets for musicals when I hate them, I just didn't remember I did

the fact that they made a joker movie a musical, thats what made this project flop

had it been a regular joker movie like the first one, it wouldnt have done this terribly and its not harley quinn like weve known her its a way different character portrayal than the shows

Bolkins

I’ve seen it twice already and plan to see it as many times as I can before its cinema run is over. I have a Cineworld card and 3 weeks off over Christmas so I will know the script off by heart come January :ororomunroe:

I agree, it's obvious a non musical movie would be much more well received by DC and comic fans, but i still had hope.  i didn't want to transform this thread into a thread about gaga :cryga: i think that's a failed mission at this point :bradley:

The first movie came out in November but that didn’t stop them from marketing heavily all through September and October.
I would have said 9 months, but there’s not going to be an Olympics again next August for them be heavily featured in.

For those who saw it:

were you wicked fans first or is this your first wicked experience? How was the pacing? What did you like/not like?

Haven't seen the stage show or read the books. Have watched Wizard of Oz a long time ago and saw the Wizard of Oz stage show a very long time ago.

The pacing was good. It felt long but it didn't feel like nearly 3 hours. It moved suitably from point to point and I didn't feel bored.

Ironically aside from a few of the better known songs like Popular, Defying Gravity etc the music was the weakest plot point. Most of them are a bit boring and the mix of vocal/instrumental was not very well blended
