But I thought people hated musicals? :brat:

To break it down for people who are pretending to be baffled by the success of this film:

- This movie had heart.

- This movie had an actual plot.

- This movie had an excellent script.

- This movie boasts exceptionally well-crafted characters with depth and relatability that resonates with audiences.

- This movie had musical numbers that gave depth to the characters while simultaneously moving the plot forward.

The complete opposite of another musical that was released recently.

It’s no surprise that everyone is raving about it, from critics to audiences.

Its definitely winning Best Picture at the Oscars next year. Bookmark me. Ariana will probably be nominated for Best Actress (and maybe win) but Cynthia won't. She'll keep it cute until Part 2 comes out but in a few years time Cynthia is going to come out and be rude about Ariana like she's rude about everyone else. I kinda hated ALL of the acting choices in the film but that is just my superior taste. The film was still a slay.

Nah, Anora or The Brutalist is going to win Best Picture. Also, from what I'm hearing Ariana will be campaigning for Supporting Actress.

I'm pretty hyped for this movie. I've always wanted to see the original musical, but it isn't going to happen anytime soon. I've seen clips of it and know some of the songs. I was thinking of watching a bootleg of the show first, or should I just watch the movie?

I always tought that i was  a non enjoyer of musical because i just like mamma mia lol. i went to the cinema yesterday with low expectations because “this is going to be such a broadway movie”, but OMG i gagged all the movie til the end. Ariana and Cynthia was such a perfect match. The movie overall is fantastic! 10/10.
