I feel bad, he seems like a nice guy. Maybe he should do like a people cover.  I honestly don’t think the album is that bad.

Not a fan of Shawn's music but this album seemed to not have any hype, no singles, kind of a personal vibe and short with average 2 minutes songs. Doesn't really look like it was meant to be this big release. Terrible numbers though.

I always get excited for Shawn's releases because he has a great voice, but he refuses to add anything exciting to his songs. They're sooooo slow and folksy and not in a Taylor Swift way. They should have pushed Why Why Why way harder.

I would disagree that it has no "personal vibe". Lyrically, the album is quite personal and I think the album itself is cohesive sonically...leaning into more pop-leaning folk/americana. In the end it's really not an album I think the general public, particularly the base he usually attracts, will seek out due to the genre shift. None of these songs are built for trends, TikTok sounds, radio, etc. I kind of appreciate that he seems to be doing what he wants versus what might be popular...

Ohh actually that’s what I said. From the name, cover and his explanation about it, it has this personal vibe to it like an intimate album. 

The things that I said it lacks were hype, big singles or promo, etc.

I think it just lacks authenticity especially given his half step out of the closet.

He should have called the album, "Ok, fine you were right 🌈" and then filled it up with tacky disco tracks and clurb music.

I've only listened to Heart of Gold, but I feel like he needs to try something fresh and different while still keeping it real. Not sure what that would look like or if he could actually pull it off, though. It’s like, if his current vibe is still “Hannah Montana,” he needs to go full Miley Cyrus.
