It's this time of year when streaming becomes a real nuisance. Unlike in the past where you had to actually download the song to make it count for the charts (therefore, not much Xmas music dominated the charts), the same people who stream their favourite Xmas songs every year get these songs into the charts for about 1.5 months. Its made Nov/Dec really unfair. Unless you have a Xmas song or are a really hot, young, new act (Jack Harlow and Tate McCrae had huge hits with regular songs during the Xmas season last year), you don't stand a chance of the top spot, you're lucky to get a top ten. Maybe this is controversial, but I'd be all for just keeping Xmas music on a specific Xmas chart. It'll still count as a #1 but just not on the main chart. Songs for a specific season shouldn't cause us to take temporary leave of our senses and start wanting nothing but that for 1.5 months every year, when artists are trying to get new eras started which have nothing to do with Xmas. And I really wish radio would stop playing nonstop Xmas music. If I want to hear Xmas music, I'll play it at home or go round a shopping mall. I don't want to hear it on my radio unless it's like, one week before the 25th.

This is making me think - should stores that stream these songs for hours every day have their stats removed from streaming data sales? Because those sales are cheated when you really think about it as they're required by their company bosses to play the music and only that, they're not doing this because they want to. This is what I mean when I say that Xmas music that become hits every year are bogus now as they're mostly the result of forced streaming.

Excuse me. It is not that I hate the song. I hate the fact that apparently from mid November people are listing to songs that are super old and they ruin the music business for 2 months
