I hope she doesn't get a role in a major franchise like this unless she really, really wants to cause she's a Star Wars fan. If it were up to me, I would have her do a bunch of smaller roles and more indy films so she can stretch her acting muscles.

My point is that Gaga would be very wise to stay clear of anything Star Wars related because Disney has been on a losing streak with their Star Wars output for ages now even if the first two movies were decent. Actually the only genuinely good stuff to come out of Disney Star Wars have been Rogue One and the first two seasons of Mandalorian in my opinion.

Andor was very interesting. Unfortunately last mandalorian season was Awful and its so Little episodes. It was the only that really gave star wars vibes in a fresh way. Andor Is a completely different thing.

I think a fresh saga or standalone movie could still be cool if they let It. Those last movie were absolutely horrible . I think id be here for Gaga playing a fantastic villain or a Goofy character with lots of make up and cgi, alien Gaga would be cool

Isn't it known by now that Todd is the one changing things up during the editing? I am sure Gaga has seen the script beforehand. There was actually lip reading video somewhere that shows Joaquin saying this movie is not the one they filmed or something along those lines during the Venice premiere.

I have no doubt that there was some post-production tomfoolery with Joker, but Gaga did sign on when the script was only half done. Todd mentioned that in one of the press tour interviews. That is particularly dangerous with a Star Wars movie, because those projects are starting to get notorious for being unable to keep a screenwriter. (The Rey movie just lost its writer )

Also, I didn’t say that Disney hasn’t made a good Star Wars movie, rather I  don’t trust them to because of how mixed their report card is. (Rogue One was amazing, Force Awakens and Solo were fine, Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker were hot garbage )

Tbh. Big safe franchises can also help ur career. Joker 2 was a bomb but thats gonna happen sometimes. Movies can be hit and miss with execution

 

The reality is experimental will end up being hit and miss even more often the way HOG was than big established franchises. Big franchises bomb and are poorly executed like maybe 1/3 of the time. But experimental at lesst 50% of the time. I think she got a bit lucky with ASIB but wed be deluded to think just because she enters more experiemental roles that ASIB outcomes is gonna be the norm. It likely wont be @MaybeKermit

 

ASIB was more successful than most experiementals and Joker 2 a much worse failure than is typical of these big franchises. Their results dont necessairily reflect what is most likely to occur next time

 

That doesnt mean Gaga shouldnt still be selective tho. Im not saying she should go for every commercial thing available tho if it has no substance or is super generic and flat. Im not saying that. But Im just saying a big franchise isnt necessairily an inferior role and she can go for those too!
