Charting means scheißeeeee :P Usually the best, most inventive and interesting music isn't near to the top ten, but they beat most chart topping songs outta the park. Like is A bar song the best song in America? Abso****inglutely not. The fact that it failed to chart better is just connected to the shitty marketing they've been doing, cause no bloody way is Stuid Love or Perfect Illusion  better than disease  I'm sorry you don't like it or didn't connect to it, but for me personally it's been the first time in a decade that a lead Gaga single brought up so many feelings and emotions with first listen. If they played their cards right, concentrated on the song on release week it could have easily been a top 10 hit with physicals, but sadly they pushed to the side of an already chart topping duet.

I was just thinking about Disease having an acoustic version on streaming and interestingly enough it is just the second time it has ever happened in her career with Poker Face being released on The Remix album 

Third time if we count the Country Road version of Born This Way and fourth if we take the Joanne piano version into consideration but the OG track is kind of acoustic already 

Now I wish she had done it more often like for Bad Romance (like the Rainbow Room performance) and The Edge Of Glory

Actually I wish we had a cute acoustic EP, something like A Very Gaga Holiday

this is lady gaga. At this point in her career, charting is great but I highly doubt it’s her artistic goal. I mean, McDonalds probably sells the most hamburgers out of any company in the US… Doesn’t mean they’re good or quality. 
 

if you need to use charting as your objective to subjectively come to an opinion, then well, more power to you, but it’s also really a sad thing.

myself and others are not going to move on, we’re going to stay right here loving what she’s giving us and ignoring the charts because, well, if I like something then I do, if I don’t then I don’t. I’d throw myself into a steamy pool of festering rat feces before I let a chart determine what my opinion should be on anything.

I’ve grown to like the Antidote Live version a lot, but I like the new leaked alternative version even better. Her delivery is much more powerful and it really captures the grunge of the song

Dear God, please free these people of their chart obsession. Just enjoy the music. Of course it’s nice when something charts really well, but when you expect that of every release you just ruin the music. Why do you need everyone on Earth to be convinced to like the artist you like? What happened to gatekeeping music? Let’s do that again lol.
