DWAS makes Billboard Global history!

"Die With A Smile" by Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars becomes the first song since Billboard Global Chart began to achieve 10 consecutive weeks with 100M+ streams, beating "Stay" by The Kid Laroi & Justin Bieber (9 weeks).

Pretty safe to assume this is not just since Billboard Global chart began but ALL-TIME because streams & Spotify users in 2024 are obviously bigger than the past years/decade.

Congrats #GagaMars

Also, technically speaking, this makes Gaga the first woman & (not to discredit Bruno but) Gaga the first lead credit to achieve this milestone.

Are we retaking #1 the following week? :anveeroy:

Funny how she’s no.1 globally but only no.2 in the US. She’s a global queen, F the US especially after half of it voted Trump last week :ororomunroe:

I don't know why we still pay more attention to the US charts, especially now (well, for a few years already) that we have the global charts. I can understand if you live there but what, half of this site doesn't live there?

And sure, it's the biggest music market in the world, but Japan is the second and you simply don't give a f*ck

Imma say something controversial but also true: it’s internalized racism. We all view western society as “higher” so we focus on what’s happening on the west’s biggest music market: the US. Even tho we ALL know it’s complete Scheiße that we do that.

Levine

The global chart will be more important only if something like this will happen to bayoncé or taylor swift (I mean #1 on global and stuck at #2 in the us). Then you'll see billboard changing the rules and all the people calling the global chart more important.

We have to chart a new way forward — Billboard Global 200 supremacy!

Billboard Hot 100 can rot. :stupidoreo:

For real though the Hot 100 is hanging on to relevancy now only because of its history. Their formula is archaic.
