Sunday 2,112
It's a complete left turn from what the current charting songs sound like. But I'm just glad she's making music that's for US to get, not for them. And I think that's so sweet of her. And honestly, if we continue to get more experimental and creative releases like Disease and less focus on singles charts? I'm totally happy with that tbh. I'd much rather have a Gaga who's focus is experimenting & enjoying her creativity as opposed to a Gaga who's focused on numbers and making music for numbers This. Isn't anyone else tired and bored of the formula following songs engineered for mass appeal? I get it. It's a business and money talks, but where is the creativity, the art at risk of triggering thoughts and emotions deeper than what is considered safe? Do we really want Lady Gaga to be another Taylor Swift? SHALLOW 15,726
Idc about its success, i just want promo to see Gaga and her looks, which are often indicative of the album theme. It's so sad that we don't get to see her that often anymore
chromaticainmyhead 6,326
I feel like whereas Bloody Mary had the push from Wednesday and a lot of new listeners, it also sounds like what is now very trendy. There are a lot of songs like from Addison Rae that use the aesthetic of sounding like a song that came out five years ago but is now just being discovered. I feel like that's what happened to Bloody Mary becoming such a viral sensation was people rediscovering the 'old' Gaga and falling in love with her again. I feel like that is missing with Disease but also there is a tiredness with celebrities that I feel like plays into Gaga not generating any buzz. Joker just happened too.. fan-tas-tique, chic, freak, slaaaay
Van Vogue 69
i think its just not the music people listen to nowadays. also songs blow up randomly on tiktok and get popular. you never know why
HermesGr 1,125
I believe that the song is good (i thought it would do better) but the video that supposed came to help a song (yeah i know you loved it) i think, its very self-centred with many of her past story and carrier symbols. Well all that maybe is something that core fans can read n find interesting but the GP doesn't interested to reach.. GP (the big audience) need to see an artistic video that they will need to return (if not, a video didn't succeed on artistic terms) Well, the video is interesting, but very ugly-raw (in a very b-c movie way) n self centred themed, to return someone who is not a core fan. THE DARK GAGA THEME: Yes. It s the most interesting Gaga theme, BUT dark was for example, Alejandro too. And many many others. But, In a more artistic way n not so unpolished n carrier self themed. GP need to feel evolved. Its clever -i think- The niche of a video, to make you feel that you were there, you felt like this and its about you too n only for the story of the artist. Now, shoot me 😁 Edited November 11 by HermesGr
Fck I luv Art 883
Guys, I think that if Gaga and her team doesn't promote it, it's bc they don't especially aim the buzz. Maybe they don't want to overshadow DWAS. This single was obviously for her fans. (Thank u queen) Keep in my mind that at least, the putas that we don't like in our entourage, won't listen to this music and annoy us by listening to it. Monstermilo 3,672
i think ppl have seen ASIB and her sound of music tribute and want more things that showcase and focus on her vocal talent. ppl arent here for the weird gaga like they used to be, us stans are, but not the GP. even ROM with ari, it was super radio friendly and not weird which is why it hit number 1 (and obvi cuz ariantors also supported the song). disease is weird and its like bad romance but rock-tinged and rock is not what the GPs playing right now. this song is for us, not the boring straights Edited November 11 by Monstermilo 2 1
Mirrion Rizzons 10,273
I honestly think it has nothing to do with the sound. I just think the GP don’t check for Gaga like they do other artists anymore. Think Taylor, Chappell, Beyoncé etc. when they make announcements, the GP immediately tune in to see what’s happening. Gaga is different, usually they discover her music through some form of ‘promo’ or exposure 1. Shallow - ASIB box office smash + Oscar’s 2. Million Reasons - Super Bowl 3. Rain On Me - pandemic collab between her and Ariana. if you focus on that, you’ll realise disease has a lot going for it: 1. The Sound Songs Like Judas, GH, BM, HML show that the GP miss and appreciate darkGa, and disease delivers on that - they just don’t know it exists. I imagine the GP tweeting / commenting things like “we need old Gaga back” without realising disease is exactly that but with a modern take. Songs like Charli’s Brat album show that songs can still be hits even with less conventional production and genres, disease has great production, but I wouldn’t say it’s avante garde. 2. Aesthetics back to what people love most about her - her weirdness. 3. Compared to chromatica One of the criticisms of chromatica is that many thought it was too generic, I remember seeing the GP slate rain on me as sounding like H&M music. Disease shows that she still has it in her to make exciting and interesting pop Edited November 11 by Mirrion Rizzons 2

There is maybe a shirt that was used by her in ARTPOP era and dark persona that maybe references her Monster/BTW era, but to think everything in that video is just that is wrong in my opinion. You can watch video as a non fan and just see clearly what it’s about, which is inner battle. That’s it. Sugar, spice, and everything nice.
Sugar Baby 757
1 hour ago, Quark said: 2. The sound: the song has a great industrial/electro beat but if you look at the top 10 in the Billboard hot 100 chart there is nothing that sounds like it. Basically this disease sounds nothing like what is trendy right now and we are almost in Christmas season

TEETHTEETH 1,449
It’s not commercial garbage and it hit number 1(at least 2). We are finally getting an era for the fans. Why are you calling this a flop? 1

Mr S 8,146
#4 is not true and you guys need to stop blaming "promotion". It's 2024, performances and interviews do nothing. Promotion today is playlisting, Tik Tok, radio payola, social media. All of which they've done. The only old school type of promo that might work is what Beyonce did with the Superbowl commercial. But that only works with a big even like that. Nobody watched Jimmy Kimmel or whatever. Just look at Happy Mistakes flopping to see what a performance will do. 1
