I get it, her album wasn't on the same level as FN but it was still decent and got good reviews. Her complete chart failure in the US (not even a top 10) really didn't go unnoticed and the entire era was just a non-event. Just goes to show that even if you previously won awards, all it takes is one subpar project to completely turn it around and you shouldn't take anything for granted. I think Megan got overlooked as her album didn't get the best reviews. As for Ariana, well, she's still suffering from the bad PR because of Ethan Slater so she's lucky she got anything really (though even I admit We Can't Be Friends should've been a contender for its video at least). Hozier, not much of a surprise, it's hard to get anywhere at that ceremony when you're not American. And maybe Jack's been a bit too overexposed by now. And I also think about how artists like Katy feel to have been not nominated for a decade. We think we have it hard with Gaga but it could be so much worse.
