Joshua81 216
Y'all have to understand that quite a few artists do "For Your Consideration" delivery packages. The top 2 artist that are the best at this are: Beyoncé & Taylor Swift. They don't have to appeal to the GP or do numbers, they just have to make sure these packages are delivered to a majority of the 8,000 Grammy voters, especially those that aren't famous. Obviously they won't wanna deliver such packages to Grammy voters like Gaga or even Mark Ronson cause they don't want her to think they're a sellout. But such packages can maybe be delivered to voters like Bloodpop. They target mostly older voters who are already past their prime. What these packages consist of are basically: 1. A list of what the artist is competing for 2. How to vote for them 3. Free album 4. Gifts like merch and more importantly free tour tickets Most artists do this after the nominations are announced so that they can secure a win. However, desperate artists like Beyoncé and Taylor Swift work overtime and do this twice, both to get a nomination and afterwards to secure a win. 2

Also, I forgot to point out that yes, the voter may not be a fan or even listen to Beyoncé or Taylor Swift, but they definitely have kids or friends with kids that do. Hence, they can pass these free goodies to those people and everyone will be happy, so the least they can do in return is to keep this a secret and vote for the artist.

Levi’s Jeans has a rap verse? Like where? Post Malone didn't even rap a single bit on the song meanwhile Spaghettiis a basically whole ass hip hop song.

Some stuff from Formation was submitted to Country and Rock, Renaissance has some stuff in Dance, others in R&B and the many categories they have of those. Not saying this in a shady way by the way, it's just interesting. I don't think the situation is that deep? I think Daddy Lesson and Don't Hurt Yourself are pretty fitting for both categories (country and rock.) And Renaissance is a dance mix rnb album. Like if she's going to make her album mix with different genres' influences then I don't see the problem of her submitting different categories. 1
Reject False Icons 4,631
Honestly good for her, I had a hard time getting through the complete album but once I caught it, I really liked it since self titled I don’t understand why some weird career choices, I but I know she’s entering a higher league to secure legend status and not being the next target to tear down of ageism or gossip tabloids

It’s mostly the fact that if almost any other artist released an album of such they would be limited to one genre by the Grammys or snubbed because they’d be “confused” on how to categorize it. Especially black artists. Meanwhile here's Spaghetti verse: I ain't in no gang, but I got shooters and I bang-bang (Goddamn) At the snap of my fingers, I'm Thanos, da-na, da-na And I'm still on your head, cornrows, da-na, da-na They call me the captain, the catwalk assassin (Come on) When they know it's slappin', then here come the yappin' All of this snitchin', and all of this bitchin' Just a fishin' expedition, dumb admission In the kitchen, cookin' up them chickens Extra leg, but I ain't even tryna kick it Cunty, country, petty, petty, petty All the same to me, Plain Jane, spaghetti No sauce, no sauce (No), too soft, too soft (Uh) They salty, they shootin', like Curry (One, two, three) One hand on my holster, then pass it to Hova Thought it was sweet when they was walkin' In the backdoor of the kitchen past the dirty dishes Now we on a mission, tried to turn me to the opposition I'm appalled 'bout the proposition Y'all been played by the plagiaristic, ain't gon' give no clout addiction my attention I ain't no regular singer, now come get everythin' you came for Like that's over half of song.
