However, I think it is for the first time since a few years all the nominees are really big names. I mean taylor, bey, Gaga+Bruno, Billie, Sabrina (which I personally dont get the hype for), Ariana, Chappel

To be fair, Taylor is not as big a Grammy darling as we think. She misses the pop field a lot for someone of her stature. Beyonce gets in with obscure album tracks meanwhile she didn't get in pop duo for Fortnight. She also loses pop categories even when she wins album of the year which is crazy

I really hope she wins both...but, and that might just be my feeling, I get the impression that BOAF was bigger in the US and DWAS was more of an international smash?  And with the Grammys leaning American...I feel like Billie might take SOTY if they give AOTY to someone else. Idk how Fortnight is on any of those lists.

Should be DWAS for SOTY and Billie for AOTY imo though.

Noms feel like a snub for DWAS ROTY and especially that Hozier song not being nominated anywhere, that thing was everywhere this summer. I feel like it played every time I stepped into any store.

I'm stunned that she got just 2 nominations. I really thought the academy would be all over this song and they'd possibly even give her a best music video nomination (they seem to like simple videos, it's weird). But hey, this is just a little way to get another win in between her last nominations and her next album, so we we ordinarily wouldn't have had this. It seems a big chance they could win best pop duo, Gaga especially has a great track record for winning this. And Bruno has a great record for winning SotY so between the 2 of them, they could even win both.

Is there a limit to the number of noms per category? I find it  a little frustrating that DWAS didnt have a nom at Record. But, on a positive note... i feel like they want to give Record to BOAF..and so they left DWAS in just Song. I think DWAS will win Song. There really are many great songs this year, and i can imagine that it has been hard for the voters. Pop Duo is on lock.

I am also frustrated that SSOH has no nom   ... like why?!?! Maybe it is not rock enough? 

At the end of the day, i just want Gaga and Bruno to go on Grammys stage together to perform...and get their awardS. I also want them both to sit close to one another

I think votes happened before the song took off. It probably would’ve gotten Record too if this climbing happened earlier. 

Still exciting to see her get Song of The Year nomination but not getting my hopes up. Something tells me they’re giving that to The Beatles.

I'd rather it got few nominations but won the few it does get. Voting doesn't take place for quite a while, so by that time, they'll have witnessed the climb and re-peak and are more likely to vote for it. I really hope they don't give SoTY to The Beatles. It was such a dull, maudlin track and John's not around to even give his blessing to it. Plus, it's the literal Beatles, they're the most iconic band of all time and have their accolades. What do they need this one for?

Truth. I was hoping the previous year they’d give a Grammy to ABBA for Voyage or even the Pop Group/Duo and Unholy ended up winning that.

It’s nice to have your work recognized but at the end of the day an artist or band’s legacy speaks for itself.

I have faith that she'll win both, I think she would've gotten ROTY had it been released sooner in the year

 

however nightmare scenario is if A BAR SONG ends up sweeping, I feel like it's been a pattern with the grammys that certain breakthrough artists get rewarded more so for having a BIG song and being seen as newer in the game than actually having the better song/album
