I was just saying today that I'm not sure what would happen if we had elections at the moment. I fear AfD will manage to get a lot of votes again and CDU will take it. We're possibly looking at Merz (who voted against things like the new self-ID law, against a law that would prevent protestors from going near abortion counseling centers to harass patients, against different climate change laws) then, which would be even worse. I'm glad Lindner is gone, but I don't know if I trust people enough to make the situation better with their choices at the moment.

Our goverment now is social-liberal-green, really really progressive, especially socially

The next one will be conservative + a little partner, one of the three that are in the gov now

I'm also not thrilled about Merz but I'd take him over AfD any day. In the relatively likely scenario that the outcome of the new election is some form of CDU-Grüne or CDU-SPD coalition, we can at least hope some of his more conservative tendencies will be moderated by his coalition partner.

pro: Lindner made politic for rich people against everyone else. good that he was fired. 

contra: new government will be really conservative that will do more politics in favor of rich people

Scholz just gave a really good speech, shame he was so silent previously. Really emphasized security through supporting Ukraine and investing into the economy, two things Lindner has blocked before.

Definitely, I really hope the AfD will be too extreme for people to vote for. I've been listening to some podcasts about forbidding them but it feels like you can't win no matter which way you go, the others will just have to do better.

The one take away of this day for me is that men should not be in leading political positions.

This will be another election where a criminal, conservative and rich man who doesn't have an ounce of empathy and hates women will be elected.

The problem with AfD is that the majority of their voters either vote for protest or because they’re uneducated. Most of them haven’t read their Programme. AfD likes to address the issues many people see here and make false hopes about change for the better. It’s very worrying that so many peilen have no Problem voting for extremists

I thought the same and was quite shocked, even the moderator said: „selten haben wir Olaf Scholz so emotional und wütend gesehen.“ which says a lot (…lol). The statement by Greens and FDP were quite bad tho 😅

Yes, the protest votes are so frustrating. People don't read the programs at all and just see the posters and think the AfD is going to solve their problems...and the other parties often don't comment on their every day worries. The AfD offers direct "solutions" to their problems that they understand, because they're simplistic and completely unrealistic or just plain insane. 

I'm very lucky to live in a very left bubble (they had to hang the AfD posters with a crane here), but I have teachers in my family who said they're very afraid and have to constantly work against the crazy false promises and lies the AfD spreads.
