LateToCult 41,842
So, I’ve made peace with the situation. Totally understand if some of y’all aren’t ready for some humor to help cope. For those that want a little light heartedness mixed with the bitter reality… Who do you think is giggling the hardest right now? Gavin or Pete? Because you know they’re plotting’ on running in 2028. They aren't. This is devastating and heartbreaking for all democrats, including them. And by the way, if you think there's going to be a free and fair election in 2028, you're smoking more crack than I am. We survived 2016. We’re gonna survey this one too. Anyone who says otherwise is just fear mongering.

Those people warned us, "he's a fascist" and he knows how to appoint unqualified crazies. Oh, and Elon is going to cut 2 trillion dollars from the budget to crash the economy so billionaires can buy up companies cheap and benefit from a desperate workforce. They plan is to *eliminate* the department of education. They're going to neuter the EPA and cancel everything related to climate change and JFK Jr is now in charge of the dept of health. I'm not fear mongering - this is a *disaster* Remember to like and subscribe, and click on the bell icon to get the latest updates

This shift led to the overturn of Roe v. Wade, for example. Now he can replace the two oldest conservatives, securing the majority for many decades. This has major consequences that will last way beyond his term

No, it’s not gonna be rainbows and butterflies, but it’s also not going to be an apocalypse and it’s not going to go on endlessly like you fear it will. I think once the initial shock wears off, you’ll come to that realization too.

I said I’m during the primaries of 2020 that I was supporting Joe Biden simply because he was the only one that could reliably get those voters who would not vote for women, gays, or other races. (Obama was an anomaly since he was so gifted.) IF we still have a free and fair election in 2028, Newsom or someone like Walz will make the best candidates. More likely someone like Walz - salt of the earth Midwestern white man. As a gay man, it hurts me to not support Pete, since he’s the most qualified and talented, IMO, but the votes would not be there.

I'm not fear mongering - this is a *disaster* Sometimes u need to hit rock bottom to pick yourself up and make real, meaningful, long last change. But that may be what this country is about to go through - and we maybe we won’t come out unscathed. We may look a lot different after - changed permanently in many ways, but such a final jolt may be what’s in the cards. I’m personally going inward to be the “light” I want to see in the world around me. I refuse to entangle and wallow in the despair since there is nothing positive or productive that comes that state of being.

I really hope to see the day where minority representation is back in the presidency but I think it’s decades away still, somehow 10 minutes ago, MACATL said: I’m personally going inward to be the “light” I want to see in the world around me. We have to surrender what’s outside of our control and do everything our power to shape our lives and communities in a positive light that is in our control
