In my eyes, though, we can’t even blame solely them for this. We’ve gotta remember that these young people have been inundated with this Republican propaganda since they were young teenagers. Some of these first time voters have been getting this kind of propaganda since they were 14 years old, and no one has been there to stop it.

Democrats pay a lot of lip service to Gen Z but it’s evident they don’t do much to actually reach out to them. They’ve allowed Republicans to have full access and control of them without any resistance.

Young people don’t naturally swing this far to the right. They have been indoctrinated and the Democrats have allowed it to happen by not paying attention to it and by allowing the Republican propaganda machine to go completely unchallenged. Nobody has been watching these kids. Nobody has been there to try and lead them away from this.

Yeah its the total lack of outreach for the last 5+ years thats the issue.

Democrats never even bothered to enter the same sphere of the internet as Gen Z exist in. Just totally abandoned it to the Republicans without even blinking. And so many are now sat around confused that Gen Z turned out for Trump.

This election shows how most people are dumb, have no media literacy and are easily susceptible to propaganda. You have clear cut, concrete evidence of what Trump wants to do with Project 2025, and you still have POC / LGBT people voting for him.

On the other hand, you have people not voting or voting for Jill Stein because she is "pro Palestine", when in reality she is a zionist, her running mate is very anti abortion, and her biggest backer being an Israeli; she's literally a bigger grifter than Trump.

I in no way support US' support of Israel, but to think that Trump or some 3rd party would stop it is absurd. Neither would Kamala, but she showed that she can listen and do something. This outcome is the possible worst for Palestine and Ukraine

The Dems have failed to appeal to the normal, dumb voter for the past decade or so. The average citizen living in rural Tennessee doesn't care about DEI or progressive issues, they want to know if they'll pay an extra buck for eggs tomorrow. Dems fail to keep this balance and only appeal to one type of voters, while Repubs as evil as they are know how to get votes

Horny Chicken

I wish the damage would be confined to America but it’s going to change the whole world. I don’t want to go to war. :(

The dem party has to abandon identity politics moving forward, and play a different game to win back those men.

Oh if he goes with his plans, he definitely will. They will suffer the most, especially from the tarrifs. It's just that they'll blame it on Biden and be brainwashed into how Trump is trying to fix it

I don't even know if that is just a Democratic Party-problem or of left-leaning parties around the world. There is so much focus on discussions with extreme-hard-right-winged people, that there is no focus on creating and promising stability for the average people that do not care about politics. This is something that right-winged parties have seen as a great opportunity to snatch voters and to also villainize the minorities in the country as root of the problem, by doing that they can "save the economy", get away with their racist antics and spew even more racism. What the democratic party needs, is someone who can promise stability in unity.

Spot on. I think this issue is more rampant in the US and the Dem Party, as some left parties around the world, especially Europe, have started changing their tactics. Left parties rely too much on identity politics (which matter, don't get me wrong), but the people who are gonna vote left already know about that. As you said, they fail to appeal to the Average Joe, and that is why Trump has been in office 3 times so far.

I think Kamala was on the right track with her stance on gun ownership for example, but they need to hit the issues of economics, taxes. A lot of people who vote for Republicans aren't MAGA levels of racists, but they see that Trump is promising better quality of life, lower prices and taxes, and that's what appeals to them.

For example, most people in California are well of and wealthy, they don't care if they have to pay more for coffee. But for people that live in cities that barely have 20k population, they care about those problems. Obama was the perfect mix of "traditional Christian values" and focusing on every day problems, while also appealing to the left leaning voters

Arcanum

History has a magical way of repeating itself when humanity doesn't learn from its mistakes. And I am afraid this was the last nail in the coffin.

Let's hope we will live to see the next elections.
