hELXIG 41,585
I wish that manchild would disappear off the face of the earth permanently as soon as possible I also find it so strange how close she got to Elon's inner circle. Made a whole album with Bloodpop who is best friends with Grimes and Grimes was asked to be on Dawn of Chromatica while she was still living with Elon. Also hanging out with Hana around that time too, Grimes' other best friend. That just feels so strange to me. I wonder if Grimes, Bloodpop and Hana are Trump supporters... Edited November 5 by hELXIG I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin. 1 1 1 1

Hana just posted about voting for Kamala, and I doubt she’d be with Bloodpop if he were a Trump supporter. As for their friendship with Grimes idk. 1

I just don't think they move the needle in any significant way. And the data certainly doesn't indicate that they matter much. This is an election that could be decided in a few thousands of votes. If a celebrity or an influencer can get 100 fans out of the 100,000s tuning in to get up and vote (0.1%), they're already doing A LOT!!! Take a look at GA for example where Biden just won with a margin of >12k~ votes. Every single vote counts. These endorsements do not have to convert a Trump supporter to a Kamala voter; they just need more low-propensity voters (those not particularly compelled to vote) to actually go out and vote! Because Kamala can't do that all by herself, these endorsements DO matter. People need to understand this better about the currency of influence and why I applaud people who have big audiences when they make a stand.

Except for like maybe Taylor Swift Honey, celebrity endorsements chance nothing including Taylor Swift, I don't think voting for someone cuz your fav singer asked you to do so is good, indeed its one of the most delusional things I can imagine Edited November 5 by GagaTheExplorer

I agree with you that endorsements are more likely to boost turnout from people already leaning one way as opposed to completely converting people. But the data we have still doesn't indicate that endorsements sway many voters. Granted, you're correct that some races come down to the wire, so each little nudge one way could add up to something significant.

My theory is that we don't have great data to tell us the full story that isolates endorsements. But a better perspective we can also look at is how these endorsements can generate more news headlines, social posts, discussions around them, boosting candidate visibility to nooks and crannies! TSwift and Beyonce are obvious ones. But we also have Arnold Schwarzenegger, Harrison Ford, Cloney, etc also having news reports dedicated to their endorsements that are taking up air. It means less air time for anything Trump. We know from this election cycle that no news is bad news. When Kamala's news cycle mentions dropped, so did her popularity in polls. Trump saturated airwaves and rose in popularity despite how bad most of the news actually is! Edited November 5 by ActualPatient
