Genuinely asking tho cuz milk costs more in Canada than in the US due to our supply management system (that is hated by many) but I dont think oat milk or soy milk is part of supply management which may explain why here it doesnt seem significantly more expensive?

I believe they're a bit more expensive in most countries, but that doesn't mean they should charge more. They're a huge company and buy huge amounts of product. With their constantly rising prices they easily cover the small difference of the cost, so there's no need of charging extra. I worked in a coffee shop a few years ago and this is what we did.

Are consumers finally getting some ****ing power!?!? All these companies need to lower their prices and reallocate their budgets to accommodate instead of finding scapegoats to justify their increases. I hope this type of thing continues to occur

I guess it depends on what the margins are. If the cost of the alternative is not so high that ur still making a healthy 5% to 10% margin on it... i agree

 

If it was a big difference tho, I cant blame companies for wanting to cover difference if u ask for an alternative that costs them considerably more, especially if its a lot of people doing it

 

I just dont have exact numbers to form an opinion in this case. But i know starbucks is generally a high profit margin business. Just wasnt sure about these particular products
