He can call everyone, and everything, racist, if he so wishes. What he can't do, is to call an entire group of diverse people "racist" for the sole purpose of deflecting from his past behaviour, and expect to be extempt from criticism. He can say whatever he wants. It just so happens that, if what he is saying is stupid, he'll be criticized for it, like any other human being on this planet. See but that’s exactly what you are doing. He is a black man living in a world where racism is still very alive especially here in the United states. For anyone to insinuate a black person is actively using his race as a means to justify any behavior that hurt anyone’s feelings is honestly upsetting and comes off racist/dismissive in itself. How do you know what kind of messages him a black man is getting from a prominently white (yes white) fan base ? I’m willing to bet he is getting racist messages. Like point black don’t tell black people when to say if something is racist or not that’s it. Edited November 1 by killme89

ALGAYDO 29,936
ThI fact that he’s openly gay pretty much confirms that those lyrics were made just for shock value. Which is… gross to say the least.

Like point black don’t tell black people when to say if something is racist or not that’s it. I'm calling deflection, deflection. If what you are saying is that he can't be questioned, or criticized, because he's black, then I disagree with such sentiment. Yes, racism is real, and yes, he has been victim of it many times, I assume, which is terrible. But Taylor Swift fans trolling him online for his objectively distasteful lyrics, isn't racism. Him bringing that up, when it has nothing to do with the reason why he's being trolled, is deflection. Objectively so. Not all Taylor Swift fans are white, and him branding the whole of them as "racist" is an attempt to gain sympathy, by automatically discrediting everything they could possibly argue against him. That is objectively what he's doing. And I do not agree with the idea that he cannot be criticized for it, because of his skin color. He is a public figure, like any other, and his behaviour is under the exact same kind of scrutiny that every other musician experiences. If you write lyrics like that, you SHOULD be able to face the consequences of your words. I don't think he should be deplatformed over 10 year old lyrics, in the same way I think he's being spineless. If he wants to be a tough artist, with tough lyrics, then be tough. Like point black don’t tell black people when to say if something is racist or not that’s it. I am willing to be he is getting racist messages. But it is undeniable, from his own words, that people are criticising him for lyrics in tracks like Tron Cat. To say that *all* criticism of misogyny by a male rapper is racism is using it as a deflection from criticism. And deflecting any criticism of misogyny in his raps as racism is highly damaging to black men. And defending him saying that it is racist to criticise lyrics about raping pregnant women and calling it a threeway for example is insane. Do you think black women agree that its racist to say a black man shouldn't rap about raping women? Do you think all black men would agree that its racist to say a black man shouldn't rap about raping women?

I'm not very informed about what exactly he heard from the swifties, I'm not from the states and I don't even know if I qualify as a POC so idk if it's my place to talk about those things but on the surface value it sounds like he's deflecting Is there some reason my LG7 isn't here?
