Both got the cover + #1 placement on their 2nd week. Streaming here will help the song stay high on the playlist. Spotify Today's Top Hits is currently the biggest playlist in the world right now. Even though we had a mild debut this still has the opportunity to become a BIG hit, I know I'm biased but the song is genuinely an earworm! The forethought and planning that've gone into the post-JFAD scheduling of the "Disease" release alone makes me think the whole team & label are on board and invested. Plus, it's a song that grows on you until it's stuck in your head. It's close enough to the "ah ah" sounds of BAD ROMANCE to make the GP excited to hear Gaga again, but it's fresh and punk enough to seem cool. This is what I am guessing. We just need Interscope to sell those Physical CDs & Vinyls for Disease as early as today. Christmas songs are gonna enter soon, they are actually entering iTunes now. Both Disease & DWAS have the next 2/3 weeks to achieve their peak. This is just unprofessional opinion tho. I actually did search about that cuz twitter keeps saying record label controls most of spotify playlists. however, i did not find any reliable source or an article confirming that idea. maybe i missed something. i just saw some non familiar blog posts/articles accusing record labels of doing those. But for me, "relevance" still plays a big role on that TTH playlist. For example: NO ONE will ever convince me that a label has the budget to put addison rae on TTH but NOT katy perry. LOL Addison rae's diet pepsi trended, and even some K-pop songs were added to TTH. and yes, those k-pop songs trended as well, i think we all know by now the power of the k-pop community. right? Conclusion: Addison is relevant, K-pop acts are relevant, that is why they were added to TTH. And Katy? Well we all know why she is not being added. For Small Talk... which debuted with 1,99M streams, sitting at 125M rn so yeah its payola driven but they really don't let you in if you've been tanking for an extended period of time.
