Disease will peak when the physicals are released and radio increases.

I really hope so, but it seems unlikely, unfortunately

Ever since the Born This Way era, most Gaga singles peak on their debut position then freefall the next following weeks.

I hope I'm proven wrong

Welp Die With A Smile joining Birds of a Feather and Bad Romance as #2 legendary songs.

Gagas most iconic hits always peaking at same time as the biggest hits of the year. How unfortunate :toofunny:

Good for DWAS but

DISEASE Debuting at only #18 is not good :/

I mean, it's not a conventional Pop song, and it's probably the only song, in such style, that touched the HOT100 chart at all this year.

Many of us wanted her to do darker music, and Disease is just that. We can't have it both ways: we can't have unconventional industrial pop, and the audience reception of a traditional, safe pop song.

It is what it is. She gave us the industrial single we've been wanting for years, she filmed a very minimalistic video for it, the song is doing as well as it could possibly do.

I can see it going higher if it goes viral on TikTok and kids start vibing with it, but as of now, this is as good as it'll get for a song like "Disease", and we should be ok with it.

Her making an album with just music that she likes, ignoring all current trends, is a very appealing concept to me. One of the consequences of this, will be lower chart performance, and I'm fine with that.

This is great??? I was hearing top 40 debut, a top 20 is great imo because this track is not exactly the most "friendly" and don't forget we don't have physicals boosting the numbers.

I see your point and I agree with you.

At the end of the day music quality should matter more than the charts.

But I see all the fans praising the song and people hyping it up sooo much on Twitter. It's definitely viral on Twitter right now and everyone's eating the song and the music video up. But it's kind of bittersweet because this is her "big" comeback, she has the 3rd highest monthly listeners on Spotify, and the general reception from both fans and the general public seems to be much better than it was for Perfect Illusion or Stupid Love, yet, somehow it's only gonna peak at #18 when PI did #15 and SL went #5? Somehow it doesn't make sense....but at least we're getting good music and visuals.

How many Little Monsters are left in the US? They knew a few days ago it was gonna be tight for DWAS but see no effort in there :reductive:

Disease has the chance to peak slightly higher in the following weeks if some of Tyler's songs fall. If it had CDs and vinyls, it would have charted much higher. As if now, her team is concentrating on DWAS so CDs and vinyls for Disease are not released yet. Once they have been released and if the song does good on radio, it's peak seems to be promising.

I agree with this but tbh top 20 is impressive for a non-safe song given that also there’s no promo as well. If they start a Disease promo campaign next week onwards then I can see top 10 potential but doubt there will be one. It’s clear all efforts are still on DWAS and feels like Disease is just a promo single in the pre-streaming era sense. My prediction is the second single will be the one with the more commercial appeal and invested promo campaign, as it won’t compete with DWAS and will be closer to album release date, so in hand promoting it will promote the album.

I feel like DWAS can still go #1 so I'm not that bothered by this prediction (#2 is an amazing peak anyway). What did bother me is that Disease peaking at #18 with points so close to top 10... If only they had physicals and video ready to go on the 25th :traumatica:.

But there were moments this past week where I thought it could miss top 40 so this is a good peak in my book! :vegas:

Spoiler

it still being her lowest lead debut is insulting to the song and its excellence, however :cyanlights:

Is there some reason my LG7 isn't here? Has she died or something?

Without the album bomb it's #13 so I think it's still much better received than Perfect Illusion. Also the #5 debut is achievable with only 42K physical sale, if there are physical and merch, I think liddos could buy that many for it to go #5.

I remember PI having like 100k first week pure sales while being an absolute tank with such a lukewarm reception (issa bop though) :traumatica: man our fanbase is dwindling.

I was expecting/hoping for a #7 debut for the LG7 lead but Harlequin's debut numbers made it clear to me that she could potentially miss the top 10. Doesn't matter much though, the artistry is where it should be and she's smashing on the charts with DWAS anyway :vegas:

many signs are showing that they’re gonna promote DISEASE on its 2nd Week, it’s on #1 TTH with cover on Spotify just today.
