FFXIV WhiteMage 5,306
The fastest way for the MV to get picked up by the GP is through TikTok. It needs to get viral there so try to like and share any TikTok vids about Disease MV whenever you encounter one. Lextyr97 18,927
Based on the fact that Disease has already been out for days and came out alongside the live version of Die With a Smile, AND got like no promo, I think it's kinda sickening that it did these numbers

Disease deserved more, but the video is great for fans, I just wish Gaga start doing more conceptual artistic statments on MV/Performances/Tours. I would say that the fans ARE watching it, but only 5 views per account count per 24 hours, so each die hard fan streaming can only do so much. I would say a lot of her views came from the word of mouth and virality Katy's comeback initially had. Like I said, she was everywhere when it came out. If Katy's fans generate 1 million streams and GP generates 2.4 million, we're in an alternate situation most likely. The GP tuned in for her comeback but turned it off, whereas the GP is tuned into DWAS because of its virality and the stans are watching/streaming Disease. People might be listening to DWAS, but that doesn't mean that while they're listening to it Spotify interrupts them and says "Gaga has another new song out too", that would be the artist and fans' job to create content that spreads awareness around her overall name and/or Disease directly. Like we need content of Gaga dancing to the song, BTS footage (GagaVision returning??), etc.. Her reposting fan's videos, fanart, etc. is a great start I would argue Stupid Love did so well in its first 24 hours largely because of Gaga's social media activity preceding it: she was on a roll with viral tweets and relatable posts elsewhere 2019-2020 and then the day it dropped she got another one with "Earth is Cancelled" which prompted people to wonder why she would say that. I hope I'm making sense I feel like I just rambled I know that Gaga's subscriber count is half that of Katy's so Katy's lower figures are much more shocking but because we're used to Katy flopping now, we expected Gaga to be well above and beyond that, she did so with her last era. Of course, Katy debuted the video and the song simultaneously and if Gaga had done the same instead of letting us hear nothing but the audio for the first 4 days, she could have generated far more interest. The video is just so crazy and out there that I assumed it would be very easy to go viral even so. But I get it, lots of the biggest hits of the year had surprisingly low views and likes, it's just the way it is now. I think I thought that Gaga was going to benefit so much from the new interest in her due to DWAS that the public would be all over whatever she put out next.

Ill admit I thought the same but I think we need to keep in mind Bruno Mars is sharing that attention and he does sing the bigger portion of the song so his attention may be more than 50% of it While we as fans keep focusing on Gaga slaying with that song, a random GP listener hears Bruno Mars for 75% of the song and probably ends up focusing more on him than her. I literally played this song at work and a work mate asked if it was a new Bruno Mars song (he recognized his voice, but he didnt recognize Gaga ) Edited November 1 by Economy

You can't miss her in the video as it's so simple and is just the two of them, they're both on the single cover and they've been performing it live at Bruno's shows. It's hardly like Gaga is either here or there or is only in it for a few seconds. But hey, I guess the night is still young. Songs build up success more than ever these days, as we've just seen with DWAS about to re-peak 10 weeks later.

But the solo portions are considerably longer for Bruno, and he starts the entire first minute. And the majority of casual listeners dont look up single covers, whatch music videos or search up live performances on youtube Ill point out Regardless of how u break it down tho, My point is hes sharing attention from the song so it may have less impact than if it was a solo hit of equivalent success But i agree about long term success. Re-peaking at 10 weeks is amazing and the same can happen with disease. Lets see tho. The upcoming christmas free makes it kinds bad timing for an attempt at slow burner. If it doesnt take off enough by late november, it may not survive christmas freeze and rewaken in January nearly dead and just fizzle out. Guess well see
