Foolofatook 78
Just now, Ashley said: It’s been a big part of her life unfortunately so it’s only natural that she would write about it, and I’m sure that’s her way of healing too. But I think this album might have some more uplifting songs since she said she’s 99% pain free recently. Yeah, I don't mean to be mean. I do get that it's a big part of her life, especially the physical pain from the fibromyalgia. But I do feel like she sings about emotional pain a LOT and it very much gives friend who only talks to you when they want to complain about their life and then disappears when it's time to talk about you. I already have one of those The dark pop I want from Gaga is her pushing me to make bad decisions that are really really fun

Luckily she seems happier in her personal life these days, so I don’t think LG7 will be as depressing as Chromatica was. There will probably still be some introspective songs like Disease though.
Jakkusan 791
To me, I was struck pretty much after the first few listens at how explicitly it seemed to be about the toxicity, enabling but also the intense love that can occur within a relationship dominated by addiction. Gaga, or whoever is the character in this song, is providing the temporary relief to the tortured person who she may or may not love. The “poison” inside them is their addiction and the “antidote” offered is the temporary fix that will most likely only make their “eyes roll back in ecstasy”, rather than actually cure the other person. The songs feels to me like it’s expressing that dangerous and sad power-dynamic between two people in a relationship affected by addiction (or maybe just a codependent relationship in general). 4

azul 2,088
It's about obsession and manipulation/ gaslighting. She is not interessed in being the antidote, she wants the obsession, she wants this other person to be the prayer to her, as that keeps her alive. She is the disease.

27monster27 11,105
She just posted it! She is talking in the song about how she can't truly escape the bad parts of her, but her learning to manage her problems is a source of beauty for her. She is proud and happy that she is finally in control of her pain and struggles. he/him/his
