It's actually more and more expanding. For example, groceries and public transport. It's a shitshow fan-tas-tique, chic, freak, slaaaay

That's not expensive at all. I paid 200 for Madonna's Celebration and 300 for Gaga in Vegas. Those were expensive

The VIP tickets were pricey but I mean even Kylie Minogue's US VIP tickets are going for over $1,000 and she is nowhere near as popular here as Taylor is. The actual standard tickets were incredibly affordable. You could get a floor seat for around $200 which, for all my international readers, is a STEAL for a stadium show in the states. Nosebleeds were going for less than $100. Only when they got to the resale market were they expensive.

We can't really compare her dates to other artists at the same venues because she's doing 1) more shows in those spaces and 2) playing for more people than other artists due to opening up seating sections that are not typically available for concerts (for example, in Chicago there was standing room only seats on the concourses for $40 which is not usually done for concerts but was for this to allow more people in). Beyond that there's a reason ALL tours in this day and age are making more money than the tours of a decade ago. The touring market in general has gone up. Like I said above, I saw the actual prices other than the limited number of VIP tickets, were absolutely normal for US shows and in some instances cheaper ($70 nosebleeds for Taylor vs. $130 nosebleeds for Beyonce at the same venue). I just think some of you international folks don't understand how much bigger the price categories for the US touring market are. $200 for a floor seat is on the cheap side for massive tours like this.

Oh make no mistake, it has happened more than once but a lot of us weren't alive to see it first hand. She's the one doing it for this generation but she's far from the first pop star whose ever done this sort of thing. Not even just pop stars, rock stars too. I mean look at Kiss, they actually hold a world record for being the most merchandised band in history.

Yes, we can all throw our hands up and say "you don't HAVE to buy them" but the reason they are sold is exactly because a lot of people can be manipulated into compulsively buying it anyway. Given Taylor's target audience, that is just ****ed up no matter how you slice it. We have never ever seen this level of shameless consumerism around a single pop star. + the fact it succeeded sets an example to other record labels and threatens an expensive future for music, unless BB finds a way to stop counting them as sales for the original album... seeing halsey pull off that bullsh*t for her latest album was vexing mother, what must i do? PartySick 144,830
Good. Now someone needs to pass a law banning resale tickets. Buying a $200 ticket and selling it for $500 is literally just stealing, how is it not already banned? Idgi
