GA standing was £110. Chromatica London shows - GA Standing was £88, seats started at £51 and capped at £167 before VIP packages. And from personal experience this year. The weekend before I saw Taylor (ticket was £85 face value), I'd paid £179 for GA standing at Green Day. Idk about US/Can tickets. But the Eras tour was pretty similar to Gaga & tbh every tour these days in the UK. 2

It must be very expensive in a lot of places otherwise the tour wouldnt break all time grossings records twice over Taylor is not the first act to do a lot of dates and sold out stadiums which means a lot of locations must be expensive or else the math doesnt add up Edited October 29 by Economy
Bronco 5,751
Just now, Economy said: It must be very expensive in a lot of places otherwise the tour wouldnt break all time grossings twice over Taylor is not the first act to do a lot of dates and sold out stadiums which means a lot of locations must be expensive or else the math doesnt add up Yeah but until the last 2 years with Renaissance & Eras people weren't selling "restricted access". Like I saw her at Anfield in the UK, she set the attendance record for a concert there and then beat it for the following 2 nights just by opening up seats no one else had ever sold lol Plus at least half the standing capacity was part of the VIP & a lot of the 1st tier seating was some form of package. And due to stage design compared to TCB the Eras tour standing spaces were smaller. So definitely a bit of gamesmanship - I don't think it's unique to Taylor though, the VIP market has been insane on Concerts since before the Eras tour tbh. And its increasingly canibalising GA seats & standing. As a metal/rock fan, a lot of the ticketing tactics we criticise Taylor and other pop acts for originated with the legacy rock bands and slowly trickled down. She’s having about 152 dates in 2 years with gaps in between when it’s all said and done. Compared to other big tours which would last 3 or 4 years, it’s not that much actually. Most of shows consist in 3 days in a row taking basically the biggest stadiums so that would make sense.
chathonnete 419
I'm not a Taylor Swift fan at all but I'm happy to see that the biggest artist on the planet has common sense (this + endorcing Kamala)
ChromaticaGUY 137
Seems to be a lot of unnecessary hate on TS on this site and I’ve never understood why. variants of the same album are just that: the same. Her fans know this and have a choice which variant they want to purchase, whether it’s one or all. tickets were not expensive to the eras tour. Front row floor VIP was $749. I bought tickets in the lower bowl with a perfect view for $150. The prices you’re seeing on resale sites are not the face value of those tickets. The woman donated huge amounts of money to food banks in every city she visits, excessive bonuses for all her dancers, band, and those transporting and building the stage. she has a genuine love for her fans and her art, and the stamina to perform 3.5 hour shows three times a week. I get her songs aren’t for everyone and she’s a “capitalist queen” and people will have their own opinions I just don’t understand why she hasn’t at least earned people’s respect.
Oriane 19,776
Wait, wasn't there a whole scandal about the dynamic pricing for tickets of her tour? I swear that was the first time I'd heard of the concept of dynamic pricing for concert tickets. You popped my heart seams, all my bubble dreams 1

A friend of mine paid 99€ for seats up in the stadium in Munich. Gaga in 2022 was 145 € for similar seats (at Stade de France, but prices in GER and FR are pretty much the same in that regard). No one is forcing anyone to buy anything. Clearly the fans want it bc they keep buying it. I don’t see an issue.

TTPD was the first time she had done that in her career 2. anyone with a mind knows bootleg lyric videos will be on YouTube immediately making the point of pressuring people to buy a variant for 1 song irrelevant. 3. as you said, all of those songs immediately became available on streaming platforms 2 hours after release. 4. target exclusive tracks have been a thing forever, Gaga included, but I’ve never heard anyone be upset by those. Only because it’s Taylor Swift people were mad.

Babes, there’s also no reason to escalate language yet again in effort to defend your fave (which is totally fine). Not every person on this site „hates“ Miss Smith, a lot of people, including me, used to stan her as well but just grew out of her music/persona for one reason or another and just don’t like her anymore. Not every sassy critique of a multi billionaire is hate, chill.
