Yaaaas Gaga 823
Starting this thread due to the sudden influx of negative comments since the news of Disease's day 2 decline in streams. Gaga has literally just dropped a lead single that falls in line with what 90% of people on this forum had been asking for, and yet people still seem to be disappointed and in need of more. I mean talk about high maintenance. I've seen comments saying Disease isn't as explosive as they were hoping? Are you actually kidding me? It's literally on a par with Bad Romance in that regard, particularly the last 30 seconds of the song. People comparing it to Perfect Illusion. I'm sorry but i'm not getting that vibe at all. For me it has the production value of ARTPOP with the darker themes of Born this Way, which is literally the perfect combination in my opinion. More frustratingly, people attacking Gaga for her "silence". The song literally came out 2 days ago. There's a music video coming imminently and who knows what else she has planned in terms of promo. There's not a chance she's letting this song go to waste, particular given the overwhelmingly positive feedback it's received. Some fans just seem to hung up on her glory days from 2009 - 2011 and it's as though nothing will satisfy them unless she reaches that peak again. Sorry to disappoint everyone but that's highly unlikely to happen. She's 38 years old now and there's newer and younger artists coming on to the scene that the music industry will be more interested on pushing. People just need to start enjoying the music for what it is and not keep relying on the approval of the GP or streaming/chart positions to determine whether the music is good or not. I pray to God sometimes that Gaga doesn't read comments on this site cause that would be enough to make me go radio silent and cancel all promo. It can be as toxic as Twitter at times. I for one am so excited for this new era. It's the return of DarkGa and based off Disease I can tell LG7 is going to be right up my street. 8
lastpopicon 3,979
not to mention that weekends are ALWAYS worse for numbers, not just for her, but for everybody. Still way too soon to stress over numbers and even then, she gave us what we were asking since forever, we shouldn't care about charts tbh, just enjoy the music. The melody that you choose can rescue you

JoeCool 175
The Fame Monster and Born This Way will most likely always be my fave albums of hers..... But still she remains real hard working and always seems to give the fanbase something.

PartySick 145,505
Gaga stans are always determined to pull defeat from the jaws of victory That's why stanning is toxic but being a Monster is wholesome 3

moonsago 6,541
Also, notice how nobody is talking about how well it’s doing on Apple Global? It’s reaching new peaks in many places or being stable in most of the other. US is a problem, clearly, but globally it’s doing well. Spotify is not the only streaming platform. Everything will be fine. Edited October 27 by moonsago
EvilBunny 1,070
People take these things too seriously. It’s really childish, in my opinion. When I was 12 years old, okay, I used to fight on twitter about charts positions and sales. But I’m 26 now, I have a job, a life to take care of, and I couldn’t care less if Gaga or any other artists are doing 3,765,980 unfiltered streams on Spotify on a Sunday LMFAO. This is sad. Really, at this point of my life, I just care about the music. Disease is a ****ing great song, a banger, and that’s all I need to focus. I’m just glad my fave artist is alive and healthy, and can continue to deliver such memorable moments in pop culture. You guys will regret this toxic behavior once she retires or worse. The only complaint I agree is about her absence after the release. Not because she needs to debut at #1, but because is always really exciting to see new Gaga content, like music videos, interviews or performances. Yaaaas Gaga 823
I think as well people seem to not grasp that fact that the likes of Bad Romance, Alejandro etc weren't by any means radio/GP friendly based on the music that was out at the time. They were huge risks compared to the likes of Just Dance and Poker Face and Gaga's career could easily have taken a nasty turn, but against all odds she was able to sell her product to the masses and make it appear mainstream. Gaga was only truly mainstream for her first album, and then again with the likes of A Star is Born, but aside from that she's always been more alternative to me, and that's what I like about her. She isn't going to release the same thing over and over in the hope that it continues to sell (look where that got a certain other artists). With Gaga, I think you either need to be in it and fully committed or find someone else to support cause this was and is always going to be a rollercoaster journey, much like life which is why her music resonates with me. 3
RAYA.core 717
It's still way to early for LG7 hype. Artists that release singles, especially today have many stand alone songs before albums drop. This may be that buffering time we have. I just can't believe she's released this amount of music in the last month. I need to make my own playlist with the singles and Joker stuff! ╰☆╮𝙸𝚐𝚗𝚘𝚛𝚎 𝚊𝚕𝚕 𝚑𝚊𝚝𝚛𝚎𝚍 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚌𝚛𝚒𝚝𝚒𝚌𝚒𝚜𝚖. EvilBunny 1,070
One more thing: people need to stop thinking she HAVE to smash every era. icons like Madonna and Michael Jackson had their flop moments here and there, and that didnt stop them from continuing to being icons. Y’all act like Gaga hasn’t had a hit in decades, when million reasons, shallow, always remember, rain on me and die with a smile all happened in less than a decade. chronic 50
I’m really not seeing as much negativity as people are complaining about. Just that she isn’t posting about it.
Didymus 34,379
Admit it. Y’all are addicted to complaining about how bad this fanbase is. If we were all like “let’s forget all about the charts, let’s just sit around and share one thing we like about this song, what a fun game!” you would die of boredom. How many dramatic threads about negativity have we had in the last 24h? Be the change you wanna see or something.
